Student Council (StuCo)


The mission of WTMC Student Council is to create a school where everyone belongs, knows how to support their peers, and has a chance to use their voice for positive change. Also coordinates school events like homecoming and prom. Everyone is welcome to join and we are always accepting new members throughout the year!


Meets 3:30 - 4:30pm on Tuesdays in the WCC Community Room (SC 105)

Spirit Week

Celebrate homecoming week Monday, Sept. 30 to Friday, Oct. 4 and follow the themes to show your school spirit.


Monday: Iconic Duo Day

You and your friends can dress as your favorite iconic duo, trio, etc! (Ex: SpongeBob and Patrick)


Tuesday: Decades Day (1990s & 2000s)

Throwback to the 1990s & 2000s! Show off your style from these iconic decades.


Wednesday: College Day

Show support for a college/university by wearing their colors or apparel!


Thursday: Hawaiian Shirt/Tropical Day

Go for a tropical vibe with your favorite Hawaiian or bright, beachy shirts!


Friday: Spooky Day!!!!

Get into the Halloween spirit by wearing your spookiest outfits! (Please remember to wear school appropriate attire. This means no costumes or masks.)

Peer-to-Peer Mental Health Club


Learn about mental health resources to support a healthier school.


Meets Tuesdays as part of Student Council.

Yearbook Club


A team of students working to develop, design, and publish a school yearbook.

Make-up Picture Day


For any WTMC student that was not able to attend the September yearbook picture day, there is a make-up day scheduled for Friday, October 18 in Garrett’s Restaurant (SC 132) from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Use the attached link to sign-up for a time in advance. These photos will be used in the WTMC Yearbook.

 

Note that there are no WTMC classes on this day, but photographs will still be offered.


Any student not photographed during the September photo day or the October make-up day will have their WCC student ID picture used in the yearbook.

National Honor Society (NHS)


An academic and service organization open to 2nd-year students and older who meet requirements. Meetings begin in September by invitation.

NHS Study Space offers tutoring and help with assignments. Our goal: help students succeed in school and achieve their best.

FIRST Robotics - Strange Quarks


Design, build, and improve a robot for competition against other schools. Any experience is welcome. Starts in mid-October.

Writing Club


A safe, social environment for young writers to share their work and inspire others to do the same.


Writing Club produces an anthology of student work every year, released in the spring.

WTMC Ultimate


An exciting team field sport open to all students. Meets Mondays and Wednesdays at the WCC athletic fields.

Science Olympiad


Study and compete in a variety of science topics and activities. All are welcome.


Meets Thursdays 4:00 - 5:00pm in LA 111.

NEW CLUB! Earth & Space Science Club


Mission: The Earth & Space Science Club welcomes individuals who are eager to explore solar, space, climate, and Earth sciences! Our mission is to deepen our understanding of these topics through hands-on experiences and citizen science projects, while developing essential skills for future careers in science. 


The club's projects include participating in the U of M SunRISE Ground Radio Lab and coaching middle school students in the Middle School Science Olympiad.

Volunteering Opportunity: Knitwits


Knitwits is a volunteer opportunity to knit squares that we will turn into scarves and blankets to be donated to a local shelter!

Food and Farm Club


Love gardening, spending time outside? Have a passion for cooking? We grow, prepare, and eat food in this club!


What's up in the garden?

Recently in the hoop house we’ve been harvesting tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, tomatillos, and herbs. Our goal for October is to work on mulching a little, and in the kitchen we plan on making salsa and quick pickles.

Play video games and meet other gamers in the WCC eSports Arena! All students welcome!

A safe social space to meet and celebrate LGBTQIA+ lives and identities. All students welcome.


October is Queer history month! Celebrate and learn about queer history all through October with us at our normal meeting time.

Figure Skating Club


Mission: WTMC's Figure Skating club wants to bring together skaters of all levels to create a passion for figure skating students while creating team memories.


Kick-off Skate!

We're hosting a Figure Skating Club kick-off event on October 19, 6:30- 8:00pm at Veterans Memorial Park Ice Arena and Pool. This event is covered by WTMC except for skate rental which is $3. Invite your friends to skate!

HOSA


For Future Health Professionals! HOSA gives students the chance to explore healthcare careers, participate in competitions, and connect with experts in the medical field. Whether you're passionate about becoming a healthcare professional or just curious to learn more, HOSA offers opportunities for everyone.  


Meets Thursdays at 3:30 in TI 125.

This month, the WTMC chapter of HOSA is participating in the HOSA Gift of Life Challenge to encourage organ donation.

MIST


An interscholastic competition celebrating Muslim culture and history. All students welcome. Starts in December.

Math Club


A group of students exploring mathematical concepts and competing in state and national contests. Chapter of the Mu Theta Alpha mathematics honors society. All math levels welcome.

American Mathematics Competition

The Club is preparing to compete in the American Mathematics Competition contests in November. The AMC is the preeminent math competition for students to build problem-solving skills and mathematical knowledge.
