New Student Orientation is Thursday, August 22!
Hello new WTMC families,
Welcome! I hope you’re enjoying your summer and are ready to begin an exciting year at Washtenaw Technical Middle College. I’m reaching out to share information about the upcoming New-Student Orientation on Thursday, August 22. The first day of WTMC classes is Friday, August 23. Orientation will begin on the 2nd floor of the Crane Liberal Arts & Sciences (LA) building on the campus of WCC.
It’s very important that all new students attend orientation on Thursday, August 22 with at least one parent/guardian.
- The day is divided into four sessions by BASE advisor. Please come during your assigned session at the time listed on the schedule below.
- Orientation will include a short presentation, a chance to meet with your new BASE advisor, and a campus tour led by WTMC student ambassadors.
Important information will be given out at orientation. You will receive you student/parent handbook, class schedules and PowerSchool log-in information. Families will also have the opportunity to connect with other families looking for carpool arrangements.
Orientation includes a campus tour. WTMC student ambassadors will walk families through the college campus and offer insights and tips for finding your way around. This is a great time to ask current students about what it’s like to attend high school on a college campus.
The first day of WTMC classes is Friday, August 23. It runs from 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and follows the regular Friday WTMC schedule. BASE advisors will provide more information about the schedule at orientation.
I look forward to seeing you at orientation and hope you enjoy the rest of your summer vacation.
Regards,
Karl Covert
Dean & Superintendent
