Fall Lifetime Learning
Registration for the fall session of Lifetime Learning is now open! Course topics include the films of Alfred Hitchcock, the operas of Giuseppe Verdi, and politics in the modern age. Click here for a brochure, or stop by the library to pick one up. Lifetime Learning is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
Tai Chi & Qigong Series
Stan Cohen will lead a 12-part Tai Chi for Arthritis series that includes Qigong and breathing warm ups. Classes will be held Monday afternoons from 2 - 3 p.m., starting September 17th. Cost for the series is $40. Registration forms are available online and at the library.

Giuseppe Verdi & Italian Romantic Opera
Fridays, September 7, 14, 21, & 28, from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
  
Giuseppe Verdi created some of the most beloved operas of all time. Verdi's operas are filled with unforgettable music, characters, and stories. In addition, Verdi's operas represent both the peak of Romanticism in Italian opera and the political impact of the Risorgimento. Led by Dr. Robert Butts, this 4-part series is underwritten by the Friends of the Library and costs $25 for Friends members and $30 for non-members. Registration forms are available online and at the library.
 
Cookbook Club: Corn 
Wednesday, September 12, from 7 - 8 p.m.
  
For our September meeting, the Cookbook Club will be preparing favorite recipes that feature corn. New members are always welcome. Registration is requested.

Lunch 'n' Learn: Women's Heart Disease
Monday, September 24, from Noon - 2 p.m.
  
Margaret Erath, a Chester resident for 20 years, is a heart disease survivor and volunteers as a Community Educator for 'WomenHeart', the National Coalition for Women Living with Heart Disease. She will be sharing her personal journey with heart disease, talking about the WomenHeart organization, and offering information about the impact of heart disease on women. This program is sponsored by the Senior Resource Center. The cost is $2, and lunch is included. Registration is required.
 
Saving Your Harvest for Winter
Thursday, September 27, from 7 - 8 p.m.
  
It's a wonderful problem when you have too much produce. Since you have already given out as many of your extra tomatoes as you can, what are you going to do with the rest? Join Farmer Shaun from Grow it Green Morristown for a class on jarring and storing your vegetables and herbs for the fall and winter. We will be covering fermentation, freezing and canning. Registration is requested.

"Always Make the Audience Suffer as Much as Possible" - The Films of Alfred Hitchcock
Thursdays, October 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 7 - 8 p.m.
  
Hitchcock is widely considered one of the greatest directors of 20th Century world cinema. This series will take us through some of the highlights of the long career during which he wrote and rewrote the language of film, continuously shocking audiences with his clever and sometimes audacious innovations. Screenings of each film will be held at 6:30 p.m. the Monday prior to each lecture. Led by Joseph Geddes, this 4-part series is underwritten by the Friends of the Library and costs $25 for Friends members and $30 for non-members. Political Promise or Peril?

Join us as we examine the current state of politics, both nationally and in New Jersey. We'll be discussing the 2018 midterm elections, gender and the #MeToo movement's importance in elections, the perils of modern day polling, and New Jersey's fit within Trump's America.
