GCLMPO Update with Randi Gates on Nov. 15th

To close out programs for 2022, the WTS Charlotte Metro Chapter is pleased to host Randi Gates, AICP, MPO Administrator for the Gaston Cleveland Lincoln MPO, on Tuesday, November 15, 2022!


In her current role, Randi oversees the MPO’s budget and planning work program, hosts the meetings of local elected officials who serve on the GCLMPO TAC, and provides staff support and input for local and regional transportation planning studies, long range plans, and project submittal for STI prioritization. Randi will speak to her career trajectory and will highlight a few of the key projects of interest in the Gaston Cleveland Lincoln MPO region including Catawba Crossings feasibility study, I-85 widening and other special projects.

Each year the Charlotte Metro Chapter of WTS solicits applications for the WTS Foundation National Scholarships and offers a local $2,000 scholarship, the Mary N. Clayton Honorary Scholarship, which is selected from the National Scholarship applications at the collegiate and graduate levels.  We also provide an additional $750 local scholarship for high school seniors. 


Please forward this scholarship opportunity to any women who may be interested in a career in a transportation-related field and live in the greater Charlotte area, the Triad, and central North Carolina.  The application deadline is December 28, 2022.

Women in the Workplace 2022


On October 18th, McKinsey & Company published the 2022 issue of their "Women in the Workplace" Report. The study, released annually since 2015, drew upon employment data from 330 companies and surveyed more than 40,000 employees. The report culminates extensive research on what the McKinsey research team terms "The Great Breakup."
