The 2018 Central Region Conference will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This years’ conference will include a muti-track program, mobile tours, student engagement, 5K fun run, yoga, and for those arriving Sunday afternoon, a free Sunday (Learning) and Funday tour of local transit and breweries.

SPOTLIGHT: SEH

SEH is cultivating a culture that advances women is through the Women in STEM Employee Resource Group. The group is committed to encouraging women in the workplace by fostering an environment of open communication and support. SEH values organizations like WTS as we strive to achieve similar goals that improving our world’s transportation infrastructure while bringing people together to network, learn, grow and develop as leaders. the transportation industry and the women who are part of creating it!


MENTORING PILOT

WTS MN is launching a mentorship pilot program! The pilot program will run from September through December 2018 with one meeting anticipated per month. Interested in participating as a mentee? Fill out an application at http://bit.ly/wtsmentor by September 7.

I hope you all have had a wonderful summer and have been able to enjoy some time outside with family and friends. WTS Minnesota has been busy this summer getting ready to host the upcoming Central Region Conference. I hope that I will see many of you there!!

TYOU UPDATE

The WTS MN Transportation YOU (TYOU) program is excited to begin another school year with students from around the Twin Cities area! TYOU is a mentoring program that aims to promote transportation careers among female students that are 13 – 18 years of age.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

You may have recently noticed WTS – MN is now asking for you to list your pronouns when registering for WTS – MN events and programs. This was an initiative of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee to help expand WTS membership and participation of people of all gender identities and to create a welcoming environment for people to participate authentically.
