Sarah Schmid is a Traffic Engineer with experience in intersection and corridor design, planning studies, traffic operations analysis, and road safety assessments. In recent years, she has also begun expanding into project management, broadening her role within the transportation field.

Sarah currently serves as the Director of Membership for WTS Metro Phoenix. In this role, she maintains the chapter roster, welcomes new members, organizes the annual membership mixer, and works closely with other board members to support sponsored memberships. She also helps members navigate the online portal, answers questions about chapter involvement, and connects individuals with committees that align with their interests.

Sarah has been a member of WTS since 2019, first joining after being invited to a happy hour event by her supervisor and colleagues. When she moved to Phoenix in 2021, she became active in the Metro Phoenix Chapter to build her professional network in a new city.

One of the most impactful experiences for Sarah has been participating in the Jane Morris Mentorship Program, which helped her build lasting friendships and confidence early in her career. Through WTS events and board service, she has connected with industry leaders and found a welcoming community that has supported both her personal and professional growth.
