Greetings from WUSB
It is not too late to give!
Thank you for giving now, directly to WUSB, CLICK HERE TO GIVE
Dear WUSB Listeners and Supporters,

Thank you to everyone who donated for our summer Mini-Radiothon, our Ready-Set-Move Healthier U campaign, and our One Day Giving Campaign. Each dollar you shared is helping keep WUSB radio station broadcasting. It is not too late to donate. Please give even a $5.00 one time or $5.00 a month gift ($60.00 a year) to help us reach our annual goal to stay on the air. All donors over $60.00 get a WUSB thank you gift. We are mailing out thank you gifts each week so if you are expecting something it will be there soon.

We are glad you could join us at the Three Village Artisan and Farmers Market where we volunteered with Chocology and Gallery North to provide a great community resource! Hope to see you at our upcoming Fall and Winter Holiday events. (with masks on of course!)

Virtually,
Isobel Breheny-Schafer

Janet Chow is a first-year student majoring in Journalism and is looking forward to becoming a part of WUSB! Here’s her take on joining the station and the beginning of her fall semester!

Q: What sparked your interest in radio?

A: Taking an hour and a half long trip to high school definitely got me listening to a bunch of radio in my mom’s car. Q: What excites you about joining WUSB? Do you have any goals for the semester?

A: I’m incredibly excited about meeting people at WUSB and working with them. I’m looking forward to having a great time and balancing all of my work! I’m also excited to work with Anastasia because she’s pretty amazing. ;)

Media During COVID-19: Student Op-Ed
By Britny Barrientos, student

"WUSB radio, the Statesman newspaper and the Stony Brook Press continued to provide accurate and verified news coverage during the quarantine. Since the pandemic started, the media has become a central place where we go to find out what we should do next. I believe that the media has been a vital resource during the pandemic. Listening to Governor Cuomo give his daily update before work really had me thinking about how seriously I should take it, as well as how others are reacting to the situation."
