On Thursday, April 6, 2017, the Washington Unified School District (WUSD) Board of Trustees approved an agreement to settle recent contract negotiations with the California School Employees Association (CSEA), Riverview Chapter #168.
Representatives from CSEA and WUSD met for a final time on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. After six (6) day-long sessions, negotiations were completed resulting in a tentative agreement. Continued discussion and constructive dialogue were maintained throughout the negotiations process. Both parties agree much of the newly negotiated language will improve our current practices related to evaluation, transfer, promotion and professional development.
Settlement will also provide a much deserved salary and benefit increase for our dedicated and hard-working CSEA staff:
4% Raise for 2016-2017
2% Raise for 2017-2018
An increase to health benefits contributions from the District
