Content-Driven Revenue Solutions
Looking to generate new revenue for the 2nd half of the year? America’s Newspapers has a program to help!

We are partnering with the award-winning team at Content That Works to provide members the opportunity to launch high-quality and advertise-ready content packages in their markets. Each month, starting in July, there will be a new content package delivered on a highly relevant and sellable topic.

These content packages are fresh and produced by professional journalists. Up-to-date and new with each release, the stories are never sponsored or considered “advertorial.” You can customize the content to publish however you please — whether it’s for feature content in ROP print, digital or as a standalone section. Run the content all at once or over several weeks; the choice is up to you.

Share your news with us for the next issue of our newsletter — executive and staff appointments, as well as news about innovations, new print or digital products, etc. We want to highlight the good things your newspaper is doing!

Items for upcoming newsletters should be sent to cdurham@newspapers.org.
Volunteers needed to judge contest
Can you help us judge this year's Carmage Walls Commentary entries?
Volunteers are needed to help judge the entries for this year's Carmage Walls Commentary Prize.

This award recognizes outstanding commentary on local issues.

We are seeking publishers, newsroom editors or reporters, editorial page editors or writers, columnists or journalism educators to help evaluate the entries.

If you volunteer, you will be asked to review between 33 and 40 editorials.

Of course, if your newspaper (or corporate group) has an entry in the contest, that will disqualify you from being a judge.

But, please volunteer! And, we'll use your help, if possible! Be sure to specify the group ownership of your paper when you volunteer.

To volunteer, CLICK HERE or on the VOLUNTEER button.
A Galveston reader reaches out to his Congressional reps to support the LJSA
In response to Dean Ridings' recent column in The Daily News, Galveston, Texas, a reader reached out to America's Newspapers for more information about the Local Journalism Sustainability Act.

He asked: "Without too much detail, what are the specifics of the act? How would it help, impact local papers?"

Following a response back from Ridings, this reader emailed back again: "In the whatever it's worth department, I have now contacted my local rep, and our two U.S. senators. I have also asked my friends to do so as well. Good luck. It's a good bill."

Thank you to all of our members who have run our editorial. It's good to see readers reacting and getting involved, as well.
If you haven't run the editorial yet, you can learn more about the LJSA and download the editorial HERE.

Encourage your readers to contact their Congressional representatives and senators in support of local journalism!

The Union (Grass Valley, CA): New owner, new course, new publisher
Don Rogers | The Union

You might have noticed an announcement in the paper a couple of weeks back about us being sold. Again. Fifty-four years with Swift Communications, then five months Ogden Newspapers, then — whoosh — a new owner June 1.

One of the bigger changes is our associate publisher/advertising director, Julia Stidham, will be the publisher now, and I am returning to the newsroom as editor.
