This year is almost over as is my term as President. As I reflect back over the past year I realize how honored I have been to serve the WVAL membership and to serve with the caliber of people who sit on your board. They have been an been supportive, industrious, inspiring, and always fun to work with. They have become good friends.
While this year has been a comeback year for our organization, I look forward to next year with enthusiasm. Mark Love will be our new President for 2023. He will bring his leadership knowledge, willingness to serve and dry sense of humor to the role. I know we will continue to grow and prosper under his self-assured leadership.
2023 will also bring the return to WVAL sponsored workshops. Jim McDonald will hold a two day work shop in mid-March and Sari Shryack will conduct a three day workshop in mid to late June. Details to follow on both of these workshops.
Also, we have a great line up of presenters for our 2023 General Meetings. Make a commitment to attend and bring a friend. It’s a fun way to support the organization and to learn something new.
In closing, I challenge you to become more active in your organization in 2023. Volunteer to be on a committee, to help with special events, enter your work in our juried shows and in Art In Public Places, attend the general meetings, and get a friend to join. Your active support increases the WVAL’s ability to succeed.
And again, thank you for the privilege of being able to serve you this past year.

ARTS FEST 2023
Arts Fest, April 29 - April 30 at The Water’s Point. is our BIGGEST annual outdoor festival featuring local artists and artists from throughout the United States. This popular event includes live music, and a selection of food trucks.
Reserve the dates on your calendar NOW,
and plan to participate as artist, volunteer, or attendee.
Art League Members who wish to reserve space for an artist's booth may apply through our Zapplication process
beginning November 15.

invites you to submit original artwork for Wimberley StoryFest 2023. The artwork will be juried, and selected work will be displayed for sale in a silent auction during our kick-off gala event on January 12, 2023, at Old Glory Ranch in Wimberley.The theme: ‘Once Upon a Time, where stories began and the documentary film: 'The Stars at Night', based on the connection between the night sky; mythology; astronomy; ancient legends; and Native-American stories.
