Tutor Spotlight

Vanessa Swidowski

Weirton Campus (remote)

How long have you been a tutor at WVNCC?

3 years

What subject do you tutor students in?

English and writing classes

What is your favorite subject to tutor and why?

Psychology is my favorite because it’s my field of study/work. I also enjoy the writing and English classes because I enjoy research and reading creative papers from students.

What do you enjoy the most about being a tutor?

I enjoy helping individuals find solutions to their problems while navigating college.

What advice would you give a student who might be thinking about getting a tutor?

Don’t be afraid to reach out for help and to do it as soon as you are experiencing difficulties.

To schedule an appointment with Vanessa or any of our tutors, go the Academic Resource Center Online in your Brightspace/D2L courses in your student portal.

Don't forget!
