The Clean Water Act: 50th Anniversary

Hi Watershed Stewards,

Yesterday, October 18, was the The Clean Water Act's 50th Anniversary!

The Clean Water Act was passed in the United States to recognize that access to clean and safe water is a human right. This created a strong legal barrier against the dumping of raw sewage and untreated industrial waste into our waters.

If you're interested in learning more, download an updated copy of The Clean Water Act Owner's Manual!

Wanna celebrate this influential moment in history? Go out and enjoy your natural waterways through activities like hiking, kayaking, canoeing, and more!

If you'd like to celebrate with WVP, join us at one of our upcoming events to learn about watershed management: NEORSD Regional Stormwater Management Program and West Creek Flume or Watershed Planning and Regional Watershed Efforts at NOACA or at a hands-on work session to benefit your local watersheds (Work Session: Euclid Creek Tree Plantings).

Thank you so much for your continued efforts in supporting your local waterways and improving water quality!

Watershed Reflections

Thank you all for your continued efforts and involvement, we really appreciate all of your hard work! I'd like to extend a special shoutout to all of our Watershed Stewards who have assisted our Area Managers in planting trees this year. Thank you so much for helping to improve your watershed's health!

We are very lucky to have received many more trees this year than we typically do, so the push for tree plantings will continue over the next several weeks. If you're interested in lending a hand and sharing your tree-planting-know-how, check out our upcoming events below!

Thank you so much for all you do, we hope to see you soon.
