National Volunteer Recognition Week

Greetings Watershed Stewards,

April 16th-22nd is National Volunteer Recognition Week. This year's theme "Volunteering Weaves Us Together" celebrates our interconnection. It is with this spirit of interrelationship and gratitude that I'd like to take the opportunity to introduce myself as your new Watershed Volunteer Program Coordinator. My name is Sara Corrigan. I started volunteering with WVP in July of last year and am newly certified. I come from a background of Nonprofit Management and Environmental Studies with extensive work with volunteers in my professional life. I've spent time at ideastream, our local NPR and PBS affiliates and as the General Manager of WCSB. I am an advocate of diversity and equity in the outdoors and a Master Rain Gardener in training. I feel so fortunate to be a part of such a vibrant program and I look forward to serving all of you in your Watershed journeys.

April has many opportunities to celebrate nature from Earth Day to Arbor Day to Ohio Native Plant Month. We look forward to seeing you at an event soon! See event details here and below and sign up in Volgistics! Note new April and May events have been added!

Gratefully,

Sara Corrigan
