Hi Watershed Friends,
Happy winter and holiday season! We had such a fun watershed year with you all. As we continued to navigate the pandemic together we made a positive mark on NEO watershed health. Please view our end of the year celebration slides here.
This year has been truly monumental for Cleveland Metroparks. Here is a look back at what has been accomplished with your support:
As we prepare for the new year, we will be taking some time off over the holidays and extending the start of the 2022 WVP Enews to January 12 instead of the 5th. In the meantime, we welcome you to check out what we have planned so far (more to come) for the new year here. We are working to bring you virtual opportunities and a few in-person sessions over the winter. Please note that we will resume with many more in-person sessions in the spring.
Thank you so much for continuing to connect, learn, and give back with us. We are honored to be part of your watershed journey. See you next year!
Be well,
Bre Turner, Hannah Comune, and Lisa Meranti

Watershed Stories: Share Yours
|
|
Over the last few months, Hannah Comune has been bringing you great watershed stories. You can read them all here. If you have a personal story to share or something you would like to learn more about, we would love to hear from you. Please send us a message.
Additionally, we would like to highlight Bob Bennett's journey with the Rocky River Macroinvertebrate Monitoring Pilot. This year, Bob, along with 12 other volunteers adopted a new independent project to sample macroinvertebrates within the Rocky River Watershed. To hear more about Bob's story, please see his virtual recording here.

FrogWatch is a nationwide monitoring program that tracks frog species diversity and population sizes. FrogWatch involves going out just after sunset, briefly listening and looking for frog signs, and recording what you find at least four nights between March and August.
To become a FrogWatch monitor, we invite you to attend a training and information session on Fri, Feb 4, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at the Watershed Stewardship Center in Parma. If you have assisted with FrogWatch in the past and are interested in participating in 2022, please join for a meeting on Sun, Feb 20, from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the Watershed Stewardship Center. To register for the training, meeting, or for any questions, please contact coordinator Mayim Hamblen at 440-253-2154 or mh11@clevelandmetroparks.com.
