American Heart Association and American Medical Association announce annual list of physician practices and health systems receiving a Target: BP™ award for their commitment to prioritize blood pressure control within the communities they serve
 
Williamson, WV - Williamson Health and Wellness Center is recognized as a leader in the national effort to get people's blood pressure under control and reduce the number of Americans who have heart attacks and strokes each year.
 
The American Heart Association (AHA) and American Medical Association (AMA) named Williamson Health and Wellness Center as one of 802 physician practices and health systems nationwide recognized for a commitment to help patients improve blood pressure control through this year's Target: BP Recognition awards.

What Works - QI Peer-to-Peer Learning Collaborative Updates
Registration Now Open for Part 2 of 6
Registration for the next in the series of hour-long collaborative learning opportunities is now live. This webinar, Workflow Mapping: Efficiency + Effectiveness = Quality is scheduled for Tuesday, November 27 at noon.  Registration is available here.

This webinar will discuss work flow mapping and share tools that can be utilized within your Community Health Center (CHC) to thoroughly map a process and develop approaches to improve procedures.

During the webinar, participants will have an opportunity to share questions, ideas and comments about work flow mapping to promote peer-to-peer learning. At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be able to thoroughly describe workflow mapping, identify how it can improve a process in their CHC and be able to identify and utilize tools to map a work flow within their CHC.

Earlier this month, Catherine C. Slemp, MD, MPH, was names as Interim State Health Officer and Commissioner of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources' (DHHR) Bureau for Public Health.

HRSA: World AIDS Day Event
On December 1, HRSA will observe World AIDS Day 2018. This year's theme is "Collaborating to End the HIV Epidemic." Every year HRSA commemorates World AIDS Day to show our long-standing commitment to those living with the disease and to remember and honor those who have died from HIV/AIDS in the United States and around the world.

This year HRSA continues our work with federal partners to improve health outcomes for people living with HIV by providing a comprehensive system of HIV care and treatment; strengthening the health workforce by training providers; and increasing HIV testing and support for people living with the disease.
