Hello Mark,

When you're planning and preparing for your move to UND this summer, don't forget to review what is included with your residence hall space, what you should bring, and what you should leave at home. We want your room to feel like home, so it's important to make it comfortable!

Review the lists below to make sure you're fully prepared! Welcome Weekend is scheduled for August 21 - 23, 2021! Watch your email for further details about the move-in process.

Megan Thomas, M.B.A.

Associate Director, Housing Operations

What to Leave at Home

Please review the Residence Hall Policies for a full list of items that may be prohibited per the Residence Hall Agreement. Some items include:

  • Cooking appliances
  • Rubber/foam backed carpeting
  • Open flame devices
  • Candles, not even for decoration
  • Extension cords
  • Toasters
  • Microwaves: one is located on each floor
  • Pets (except fish in aquariums under 20 gallons)
  • Firearms
  • Wireless router
  • Large wall coverings
  • Alcoholic containers
  • Any item that hangs from the ceiling

How to Personalize Your Room

Pictures and posters may be hung on the walls of your room; we recommend using very small nails, t-pins, and thumbtacks to hang items. Please note that excessive nail holes may be subject to repair charges when checking out of the room.

Using these items will eliminate the problem of unsightly wall damage. Refrain from using stick-on material and other adhesive products that can damage walls.
