"The Word of God, to which listening alone 'gives rise to
wonder,' should be jealously guarded in the depths of
one's heart."

"The first effect of the Word of God is therefore wonder, 'and then it gives us joy. But wonder is more than joy alone. It is the moment when the Word of God is sown in our hearts.' "

Pondering & Reflecting on the Word   By Jim Murphy

An excerpt from a talk given by Jim Murphy at the March 2007 Leaders' and Helpers' Day. Originally published in September 2007 GLEANINGS. Jim Murphy will be one of the speakers at our Pentecost Celebration on May 15-16. Click Here for more information.

We have a beautiful model for the spiritual life in Mary, our Blessed Mother. In Luke chapter 1:26-56 you can read about some defining events in her life: She is told by an angel, "Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you." and God reveals to her the incredible news that she will bear a son and name him Jesus. Then the angel tells her that Elizabeth, her kinswoman, is already with child. Mary goes in haste to visit Elizabeth and is greeted with "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" and then there is that beautiful canticle that begins, "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord..." (Luke 1:46-55)

One of the things that Mary did when the angel spoke to her is that she pondered the greeting that she received. Later when Jesus was twelve, she treasured these things in her heart. One of the qualities of Mary is that she didn't just think about it, she took it into her heart.  Read more...

From Sue's Desk

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I pray that this letter finds you rich in faith and trust in God.

Our life circumstances can, at times, be difficult and challenging. It is often in suffering that we draw close to the One who suffered much. Know that you are not alone. The grace of the Holy Spirit can fill us with hope and joy in the midst of struggle and our God will surround us with others to encourage us. Know that in the Body of Christ there are members who will hold you up when the burden is heavy.

WWCCR News

Our beloved Bobbie Brown is retiring from her position as Healing Mass Coordinator after 15 years of faithful, loving and dedicated service. Her loving touch brought joy to all who worked with her. She will be greatly missed.

The Lord God answered our prayers for a new Healing Mass Coordinator with Debora Johnston. She is a passionate Catholic who has great enthusiasm for evangelization and doing God's will. We think this is a winning combination. Please join us in welcoming Debora at the next Healing Mass you attend.

2015 Pentecost of the Nations - Pray the Pentecost Novena!

Plan now to join with tens of thousands of other Catholics in fervent intercession "that the spirituality of Pentecost will spread for a new Culture of Pentecost in the Church for the New Evangelization."

This is a response that the worldwide Catholic Charismatic Renewal offers to the desire expressed by Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis - that the spirituality of Pentecost will spread in the Church for a new "Culture of Pentecost" (JPII, May 2004; Benedict XVI, Sept 2005; Francis, May 2013)

The Pentecost Novena...for a New Culture of Pentecost

"Oh, if only...unanimous and fervent prayers could be raised to Heaven in every part of Christendom as they were one in the Cenacle (upper room) of Jerusalem for a rekindling of the Divine Spirit."   ~Bl. Elena Guerra

CLICK HERE for ideas on how to pray the Pentecost Novena in your parish or your prayer group. Join us on May 15-16 at St. Stephen the Martyr Church as we begin the Pentecost Novena together
