Janice Cackowski is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and co-founder of Centry Financial Advisors, located in historic downtown Willoughby. She provides solid, centered financial planning and investment advisory services to new retirees, young professional and LGBTQ+ couples.

Janice has been a member of the Chamber Board of Directors for __ years and offers outside-the-box thoughts and ideas. She’s chaired the chamber committee for the annual luncheon and has helped develop our diversity, equity & inclusion initiative. Her favorite part of being a member of the chamber is getting to better know and serve her community.

This event brought over 600 students and 45 manufacturers together to help build our workforce in Lake County!

The Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce Advocating For Our Members
The Willoughby Western Lake County Chamber of Commerce monitors policy changes, legislation, and proposed regulations that can impact our members and from time to time we take an official position on these matters.

Last week we joined chambers around the country to oppose the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) proposed regulation to determine whether someone should be classified as an "independent contractor" or an "employee" under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA). This new regulation is heavily biased towards concluding that someone should be considered an employee. If an employer determines a worker should be classified as an independent contractor, the employer will not be confident that this classification will be correct until the DOL approves it. The only way an employer can be confident in their classification decision is if they classify someone as an employee.

This legislation has the potential to impact many of our members who are independent contractors as well as our members who utilize the services of independent contractors.
