Rhonda Y. Butler is the Director of Career Services and Employer Relations Coordinator at Lakeland Community College.
Rhonda is responsible for the managerial leadership of the Career Services Department and develops programs and services to support the employment needs of current students, alumni, and community job seekers. She is also responsible for collaborating with and Lakeland administrators, faculty, staff, area employers and other stakeholders on various workforce and career initiatives.

Grants Available to ApprenticeOhio Sponsors, Employers
|
In conjunction with National Workforce Development Month, Governor Mike DeWine announced that ApprenticeOhio sponsors can apply for grants of up to $25,000 each to help cover apprenticeship training costs incurred since July 1, 2020. Ohio employers with registered apprentices in their workforces also can apply for the grants. The program is available through Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS).
The reimbursement grants are available through a federal “Building State Capacity to Expand Apprenticeship through Innovation” grant that ODJFS received in 2020. Sponsors and employers can apply for the grants at Apprentice.Ohio.gov through Dec. 31.

Loans Available for Minority-
Women-Owned Businesses
|
The Ohio Department of Development can help minority- and women-owned businesses grow and expand with a pair of loan programs.
The new Women's Business Enterprise Loan Program and Ohio Micro-Loan Program are priority initiatives of the DeWine-Husted Administration and were included in the 2022-2023 operating budget, which was passed in by the Ohio General Assembly in June 2021.
The loans are administered by the Development’s Minority Business Development Division. To date, Development has approved more than $3.6 million in Women’s Business Enterprise Loans for 15 companies, and $2.5 million Ohio Micro-Loans have been approved for 62 companies.
More than $6.3 million remains available in the Women’s Business Enterprise Loan Program, and more than $7.5 million is available in the Ohio Micro-Loan Program.
