On July 19th at Go Bananas Comedy Club, twelve women writers took the stage in a hilarious fundraiser for Women Writing for (a) Change. High energy sparked through the evening as the comics, most performing stand-up routines for the first time, brought down the house with laughter and applause!

-up comic, the writers transformed into courageous, funny performers for an evening of laughter and hilarity. An Evening of Female Comics evolved over its five year history, from originally featuring comedien
nes who were
regulars on the stand-up comedy circuit and who graciously agreed to perform for this event. This year's evening of rollicking fun delighted from start to finish entirely showcasing women writers affiliated with Women Writing for (a) Change. What a show it was!
Emcees Teri Foltz and Sandy Lingo hosted the show as a duo, humorously playing best friends whose identities have become intermingled. The ten comics moved the show along in rapid-fire laughs: Susan Branscome, Angela Derrick, Annie Donnellon Davis, Brittany Freudiger, Diane Germaine, Laila Hameen, Claudia Kasvin, Eva Lewandowski, Hope Miller and Ned Sneed.
This fun and spirited evening provided funds in support of writing programs at WWf(a)C. A huge thank you to the performers who made this possible!

Girls' Voices Fill YWWf(a)C
Summer Camps

From June to August the first floor of the building was buzzing with the voices of girls ages eight through eighteen, bringing strength, bravery, and vulnerability with them. About a third of the campers were returning from past YWWf(a)C experiences, and the other two thirds were new. Girls at all levels stepped up in brilliant and powerful ways, leading facilitators to ask the age-old question:
How different would my life have been if I had come to a camp like this as a girl?
