Gratitude for Your Gifts

It takes a community! Each and every one of you who supports this community makes Women Writing for (a) Change possible.  Your generosity brings scholarships to so many who could not otherwise attend writing circles. It supports outreach to urban teens and to young women experiencing or at risk of homelessness, through in-school writing circles. Your generosity reaches women who have experienced domestic violence, youth in after school programs and so very much more.

Each of you is a critical partner in fostering creative self-expression through the art of writing. Your gifts  provide 37% of the funding needed to offer this myriad of opportunities.  With immense gratitude, we recognize all who made gifts to Women Writing for (a) Change during 2018. Your enthusiastic generosity fosters the special uniqueness and vitality that is Women Writing for (a) Change. Thank you.

WWf(a)C V-DAY 2019
SPEAK YOUR TRUTH

Friday Night Readers

Powerful words, heartfelt words, brave, disturbing, hopeful and even humorous words filled the room at WWf(a)C on February 8th and 9th.  This--real stories from real  people --is what our annual V-Day event offers to WWf(a)C and the broader community.

The V-Day/One Billion Rising movement strives to  bring awareness, energy, and support to the fight against sexual violence around the world and in our own neighborhoods. As we  more fully understand the issues women , trans and gender non-conforming persons face, we are better able to interrupt the social patterns that lead to harassment, abuse, and sexual violence.

Much gratitude to WWf(a)C facilitator and poet Laurie Lambert who has organized and directed these programs for seven years in a row.  A huge thanks to all the talented writers and readers who shared their words and made the program possible.

WWf(a)C V-Day 2019, SPEAK YOUR TRUTH, brought in $3,875, which will directly benefit programs, including writing circles, to help victims of domestic abuse in the Greater Cincinnati area. Great appreciation to all who attended and supported the events!
