An Invitation to Write
On the wind in February
Snowflakes float still,
Half inclined to turn to rain,
Nipping, dripping, chill.
~Christina Georgina Rossetti, "A Year's Windfalls"

The amazing support of friends makes all the difference! You are an essential part of the team encouraging creative self-expression through the art of writing. Your generosity provides one third of the funding that keeps Women Writing for (a) Change and Young Women Writing for (a) Change strong and vibrant; it brings scholarships to women and girls of all ages, who could otherwise not attend writing circles. It supports outreach to urban teens; to young women at risk of or experiencing homelessness, through in-school writing circles. Your generosity reaches women who have experienced domestic violence; youth in after school programs and so very much more.
With gratitude and appreciation, WWf(a)C recognizes all who made gifts in 2017, and those who are honored or remembered with these gifts.
Thank You!

Friday Night V-DAY Readers
|
On February 9th and 10th, local writers shared essays, poems, stories and song for the sixth annual WWf(a)C V-Day* events. Organized and directed by WWf(a)C facilitator and poet Laurie Lambert, the purpose of this event is to bring awareness, energy and financial support to the fight against gender-based violence. The $2,739 proceeds from this diverse and transformative event will support programs, including writing circles, for those who have experienced domestic abuse.
Gratitude to Laurie and to each of the writers and readers for these powerful evenings of strength, truth-telling, courage, and hope.
