"Rising Voices" is a 90-day traveling group exhibit amplifying obscure voices. The mission is to encourage conversations and connections about the diversity of the she/her experience in our communities.
WWf(a)C is honored to host the final exhibit, which completes its journey May 7th through 31st, with an Artist Reception on May 7th. We are reaching out to our community of talented artists and writers to encourage you to submit your work for this exhibit!
WWf(a)C is a sponsor of this annual celebration of National Poetry Month at Findlay Market. This outdoor event features local artisans, crafts, open mic and the 2020 Poetry Slam Competition.

Welcome Abby Wheeler
Please welcome Abby Wheeler as our new part-time Executive Assistant, effective March 2, 2020.
Abby most recently spent 10 years as a Senior Content Strategist with School Outfitters, a national school furniture and equipment company located in Cincinnati. In that role, she crafted web and print content. Previous to that, she worked as an after-school Program Coordinator with CPS and YMCA of Cincinnati and spent two years as an Americorps Volunteer in the state of Washington. She has a BA in English from Denison University and also attended the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland.
Abby has been attending the Wednesday evening all-gender writing circles since the Summer of 2018. Welcome Abby!
What will YOU write with us?
We offer week-long summer camps for young people in 4th-12th grades and a 4-day summer session for young adults 18-22. Our camps are open to young women, girls, and trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) youth.
Two powerful evenings of strength, truth-telling, courage, and hope marked the eighth annual V-Day event at Women Writing for (a) Change. On February 21 and 22, local writers shared essays, poems, stories and song in conjunction with the V-Day/One Billion Rising* movement, which strives to bring awareness, energy and financial support to the fight against gender-based violence.
Much gratitude to WWf(a)C facilitator and poet Laurie Lambert who has organized and directed these programs each year. A huge thanks to each of the 45 writers and readers of all genders who bravely shared their words in these diverse and transformative evenings. The event proceeds of $3,160 will support programs, including writing circles, for those who have experienced domestic abuse.
