WYOMING #38
TROPHY MULE DEER
You can still book a classic western mule deer hunt for 2021 in the great State of Wyoming, and you don’t even need any points to draw! But you need to act fast as there are only 2 spots left!

This professional big game outfitting operation is based in southeastern Wyoming. We have been working with them for nearly 20 years. They conduct all hunts on various private ranches encompassing over 60,000 acres of prime habitat for elk, mule deer and antelope, including a handful of very large, well-managed private properties. Working closely with the ranch owners allows this outfitter to maintain quality hunting on all of the ranches, and in doing so produce some fantastic trophies.

Mule deer here will typically run from 160” on up into the 190+”-class. They tend to have good width and mass as well. And having spent most of their lives on relatively secluded private lands with difficult public access, they tend to have a bit of age and be a little more approachable. You will do plenty of glassing, try to put them to bed and then make your stalk. Success on mulies is usually close to 100%.

Price is $5,695 per person 2x1 for 5-day hunt, including food and lodging. They have room for up to 2 hunters. These hunts take place in Deer Region T, which can typically be drawn with ZERO PREFERENCE POINTS.

DATES: October 1-5 or October 7-11, 2021
ALASKA #243
DISCOUNTED SALMON, HALIBUT FISHING ADVENTURE
This outfitter has been guiding fishing and hunting trips for nearly 50 years! In the fall, he offers high-success whitetail hunts in Idaho, but in the spring and summer, he offers memorable saltwater fishing adventures in southeast Alaska.

You will stay at a remote but very nice fly-in lodge on Chichagof Island, accessed via Juneau, where your group of 4-6 will have the lodge all to yourselves. You will enjoy great food and service, and you will catch mainly king and silver salmon and halibut. You are allowed 1 kings, 6 cohos, and 1 halibut per day. You will also enjoy tremendous scenery, and likely see whales, bears, deer, otters, sea lions and bald eagles.

They are offering a special right now that will save you $600 per person. Enjoy a 5-day trip, with 3 full days of fishing, for just $2,400 per person for groups of 4 to 6 anglers. The regular price of $2,995 per person applies for groups of 2 or 3 anglers. These are fully-guided trips aboard a 31-ft. boat, and include accommodations, meals, rods/reels/tackle and bait. Float plane to lodge (approx. $400 per person), fish processing ($2.40/lb.), fishing license and King Salmon Stamp are extra (approx. $65 per person).

DATES: July and August

If you like a small, friendly operation that puts a lot of emphasis on enjoying nature and the overall experience, this is a trip for you.
WYOMING #232
TROPHY ANTELOPE
Most experienced hunters will tell you that there is no better place in Africa for variety and abundance of plains game species than South Africa, and that there is no better value for your safari dollar. But ALL of South Africa is high-fenced, right? WRONG! We work with a premier outfitter in South Africa that is entirely FREE RANGE, and over 1.2 million acres/1,800 sq. miles of it at that, in different areas of the country.
This massive ranch in central Wyoming is over 570,000 acres, making it the largest contiguous ranch in the Rocky Mountains (to our knowledge). It is home to thousands of elk, antelope and mule deer, some of which die of old age due to the sheer size of this place. They have some great trout fishing as well. Hunters are housed in a gorgeous 4-star lodge, with delicious meals served every night.

The terrain is “moderate” in terms of physicality and varies from open meadows in the timber to vast juniper flats to windswept ridgelines. The elevation is fairly high at 6,500-8,500 feet, but the outfitter can usually accommodate various physical abilities.

This ranch offers an exceptional opportunity for every antelope hunter to take home a trophy buck. With hundreds of thousands of acres securely managed behind locked gates, and thousands of antelope roaming the ranch, your chances at finding a wall-hanger scoring 75+” are high. We think these high-success hunts are a real bargain at just $2,500 for a 3-day hunt 1x1, food and lodging including. Archery season is August 15-September 25 and rifle season is September 25-October 31.

They hunt Areas 47 and 48, which normally take 2-4 points to draw.
IDAHO #176
STEELHEAD, SALMON, STURGEON, WALLEYE & MORE
This excellent operation specializes in personalized fishing trips for steelhead, salmon (including saltwater), sturgeon, smallmouth bass, walleye and kokanee. They operate in Idaho, Oregon and Washington on the Clearwater, Snake, Columbia and Grande Ronde rivers, and the Dworshak Reservoir, using power boats and drift boats to guide you to the best fishing. Most of their fishing takes place out of Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA.

Hunt Nation founder Butch Manasse and some buddies have fished a number of times with them, floating on a portion of the Clearwater River in Idaho. Typically, they land 8 to 15 steelhead per day, but one memorable day Butch landed 9 by himself and lost several others! You can expect to actually land 2 to 4 per man as the norm, but expect many bites and a number of lost fish due to their sheer size and explosive power, plus the strong currents of the river. Sizes vary with timing of the various runs, but a typical trout will be 6 to 12 pounds, with big fish going 14 to 18 pounds! You can keep only hatchery-spawned fish, and all wild fish must be released.

They have something to offer virtually year-round! Their rates are very affordable, at just $250/day per person.
OREGON #193
COW ELK RIFLE HUNTS
Many hunters don’t think about Oregon when it comes to elk, but that’s a mistake as this State has some fantastic elk hunting. This outfitter hunts mainly private land in central and eastern Oregon – about 30,000 acres – plus some large tracts of landlocked BLM ground. Most every hunter that we have sent to this outfitter thus far has reported seeing lots of elk. TAGS ARE GUARANTEED. JUST BOOK AND GO!

Cow elk hunts make a great first western hunting experience. They are high success, very affordable, and also a fun way to put some delicious and healthy lean meat in your family’s freezer for the winter.

These are 2-day guided hunts on private lands in Oregon’s Northside Unit. No food or lodging is included, but is readily available nearby. Success is usually around 90% success rate, with near 100% opportunity. Price is just $1,700 per person 2x1, plus license/tag (approx. $720).

 August 3-4 (4 spots)
August 10-11 (2 spots)
August 17-18 (4 spots)
August 20-21 (4 spots)

GEORGIA #58
TURKEYS, HOGS, BASS
These turkey and wild hog hunting adventures take place in the woods of east-central Georgia, approximately 2.5 hours south of Atlanta. This outfitter hunts approx. 5,500 acres of private property across 4 counties that are closely managed with crops and food plots prime for birds and game. They also have some pretty fair bass fishing in 5 private ponds.
Hog hunting here is all free-range wild boar and hogs. No high fences! You can hunt day time or at night. Some of their hogs, including Russian boars, will exceed 300 pounds. Do realize that hogs are smart – one of the smartest of all wild game – so no guarantees, and you need to put your time in, likely at night. You can hunt with any weapon of your choice, and you can hunt year-round. Hunters in the past few years have experienced a harvest opportunity rate of over 90%. If you are more interested in harvesting meat than in taking a trophy, they also have a large population of “meat hogs”.

These are semi-guided hunts. Guides will pre-scout, transport you to and from your baited stand/blind, and provide tracking/recovery assistance if needed.

Georgia is also one of the absolute best places anywhere to hunt gobblers. They have one of the best wild turkey populations in the United States, as well as one of the longest hunting seasons (approx. March 20-May 15). Opportunity on toms is about 90%-95%, meaning the overwhelming majority of folks go home with a trophy gobbler and some great memories. Many of the larger gobblers will weigh between 18-24 pounds and have 10-12 inch beards.

  • TURKEY – $450/day per person 2x1 guided (minimum 2 days). Limit of one mature gobbler (no jakes) per day per hunter, maximum 3 birds (require at least 3 days).

  • HOG – $350/day per person semi-guided (minimum 2 days). Limit of one hog per day per hunter.

  • TURKEY & HOG COMBO – $600/day per person (minimum 2 days). Limit of one mature gobbler (no jakes) and one hog per day per hunter.

  • TROPHY BASS FISHING – $350/day per person semi-guided (minimum 2 days). February to September. Catch & release only.

  • CAST-N-BLAST – 2 or 3 evenings of hog hunting, with trophy bass fishing on their stocked private lakes during the day. $595 per person for 2 days or $795 per person for 3 days (includes one hog each day). Only valid from May 15-September 1.

  • BEARDS, BOARS & BASS – Turkey hunting each morning, fishing during the day, and hog hunting in the evening. $1,495/person for 3 days (includes 1 gobbler and 1 hog per day). Only valid during turkey season.

Non-hunters are $100 per day. Group discounts available.

All packages include the hunt, lodging, transportation to and from the stands, and quartering of the game. The price does not include licenses or meals. You can cook at the lodge in their fully stocked kitchen or eat in town (approx. 5 miles away).

DATES:    They have hog hunts available most any time, and a few dates available for spring turkey after opening weekend (March 20, 2021)
ALASKA #154
DISCOUNTED LUXURY YACHT-BASED TROPHY BROWN BEAR
Hunt big brown bears from an 80-foot luxury yacht specially built for use as a floating lodge, with a private cabin and bathroom for each hunter. You will see magnificent coastlines, scenic mountains, wildlife and sea life galore, all in refined comfort. Enjoy 5-star chef-prepared meals, excellent guides, and great hunting. Normally you will anchor in a secluded cove or bay, then jump into their seaworthy 16-ft. skiffs to tour the shores up close, all while glassing the beaches and grass flats. The Captain is a Master Guide and has been guiding Alaskan trips for over 30 years.

These hunts normally fill up a year or more in advance, but right now they still have room for 2 hunters this fall (and possibly 1 this spring). They only take 2-4 hunters at a time. This is a 10-day hunt on Baranof Island, part of the famed “ABC Islands” in southeast Alaska. This area has the highest density of brown bears in Alaska, and seeing 40-50 bears is not uncommon (this area has a lot of bears!) Success is very high, and most bears will be 8.5 ft.-9.5 ft. There is NO DRAW for licenses!

The regular price is $35,000, but this has now been discounted to $33,000 per hunter and $6,500 per non-hunter, plus license and float plane charter to yacht (approx. $450). Also plan on 1-2 nights’ food and lodging inbound/outbound. You will also do some crab fishing during your hunt, so you will need a 7-day fishing license. Charter fishing out of Sitka can also be arranged at extra cost before or after your hunt.

DATES:           September 15-24, 2021 (2 spots)
May 6-15, 2021 (possibly 1 spot)
WYOMING #123
TROPHY BIGHORN SHEEP
If you’ve been collecting Wyoming sheep preference points for many years and have been looking for a good hunt on which to use them, the search is over.

This terrific multi-species outfitter operates in about 1,000 squares miles of territory in the famed Thorofare wilderness region of northwest Wyoming, just outside of Yellowstone. He hunts Areas 2, 3, 4 and 5, all of which take approx. 20 points to draw. This outfitter only takes 1-3 hunters per year, and they are normally 100% on 165”-175” rams, but have taken sheep up to 180”. The season runs September 1 to October 31.

Everyone knows that sheep hunts are incredibly expensive, right? Not necessarily! Due to the difficulty in drawing a tag, these hunts are just $9,000 for an 8-day hunt (additional days can be added for extra charge), plus licenses/tags and 3% Forest Service Fee.
YUKON / BC #67
DALL SHEEP & MOUNTAIN GOATS
This first class outfitter has been offering top notch big game hunts in the Canadian North for decades. In the Yukon, he offers hunts for Dall sheep, giant moose, mountain caribou and grizzly. In British Columbia, he hunts Stone sheep, mountain goats, moose, mountain caribou, elk and black bear.
The majority of hunting is done on horseback, with some hunting by boat and backpacking. They have a string of strong and reliable horses, well-adapted to the mountainous terrain. Guides are skilled at stalking game, handling horses and caring for trophies. In most cases, hunters operate from spike camps away from base camp.

Dall Sheep
This outfitter’s Yukon hunting concessions cover over 8,500 square miles of mountainous terrain. The heart of the area is secluded – accessible by float plane and horseback only. The Dall sheep is one of North America’s finest trophies, and they are found in good numbers in this outfitter’s territory. The rams here are noted for having heavy bases. They average 37” in length, with bases around 14”. Over the years a number of rams from this area have qualified for the Boone & Crockett record book. They enjoy an 85%-90% success rate over many years.

These hunts are booked years in advance, but the outfitter has an opening August 7-18, 2023 available at this point. Price is $32,500 USD for a 10-day hunt (7-day hunts also available). License/tag, charter and 5% GST are extra.

Mountain Goat
This outfitter’s BC concession is situated in the northeastern corner of British Columbia (close to the Yukon) and covers 3,500 square miles of some of the most productive big game hunting in Canada.

They hunt mountain goats from August 15 to October 15 each year, with near 100% success. If you want nice weather, earlier is better, but if you want a trophy with a glorious “winter mane”, later is better. For such late season hunts, he currently has September 29-October 9, 2021 or September 19-29, 2022 available. Price is $21,500 for 10-day backpack hunts, or $24,500 for lodge hunts (7-day hunts also available). License/tag, charter and 5% GST are extra.

On both his Yukon and BC hunts, additional species can usually be added on trophy fee-only basis.
ZIMBABWE #209
HUNT THE FAMED BUBYE VALLEY CONSERVANCY
If the Dark Continent beckons you, Zimbabwe’s Bubye Valley Conservancy (BVC) is one of the finest safari destinations you will find in all of Africa. The BVC is a pristine lowveld wildlife area of almost 1 million acres situated in the south of Zimbabwe. This area has an incredible array of over 35 animal species and offers the very finest of both dangerous and plains game free-range hunting found anywhere on the African continent. Some species are found in the thousands. There are no internal fences, so there are no problems with boundaries affecting game movement or hunting. The BVC IS one of the largest concessions found anywhere in Africa.

This safari company is run by a PH who grew up in Zimbabwe. He worked a number of years as a Park Ranger, doing much hunting and culling of dangerous game. He is now one of the top PHs in the country, and was previously awarded the prestigious Professional Hunter of the Year award in Zimbabwe. About 80% of his business is repeat clients. His company is very tough on poaching, and spent half a million dollars in just one year on anti-poaching patrols.

This area offers arguably the very best wild lion hunting in Africa, and this PH takes only 13 male lions a year, with success running pretty much at 100%.  The BVC is also blessed with a very high population of leopards. They hunt about 20 males each season and the success rate on large toms is among the highest in Africa. Almost each year they win the prize for the largest leopard shot in the country. There is also a very healthy buffalo population in excess of 6,000 head and increasing annually. This outfitter hunts both trophy bulls and management bulls, with success usually at 100% success. When it comes to plains game, they have nearly 30 species that can be hunted, including some of the night-time critters like small cats.

Plains game hunts are 7-10 days at a daily rate of $700/day, and this is a sampling of their big game hunt prices:

Lion/Buffalo                          18 days          $3,000/day                $54,000
Management Lion               18 days          $3,000 /day               $54,000
Buffalo/Leopard                   15 days          $1,875/day                $28,125
Buffalo/Sable                        14 days          $1,675/day                $23,450
Trophy Buffalo                      10 days          $1,400/day                $14,000
Management Buffalo           7 days            $1,400/day                $9,800
Leopard/Sable                      15 days          $1,750/day                $26,250
Leopard                                14 days          $1,400/day                $19,600

Trophy fees are additional to these hunt prices. The trophy fee list is very long, so please ask.

Life is pretty normal these days in Zimbabwe, with COVID cases relatively low in comparison to the rest of the world. This outfitter has many U.S. clients headed over there this year, and some airlines are increasing their flights to Africa. The outfitter still has some openings from April thru November, and some lion and leopard tags are still available (they did not hunt any big cats last year so the hunting should be exceptional).
