Minnesota Chamber News

2026 business benchmarks_1 image

2026 Business Benchmarks

For generations, Minnesota’s private sector has driven innovation, prosperity, and a high quality of life—but we can’t rely on yesterday’s success to secure tomorrow’s future. The data are clear: Minnesota’s economy is no longer keeping pace, ranking near the bottom nationally in GDP growth, job growth, labor force growth, and real median household income from 2019–2024. These trends affect more than statistics—they impact business competitiveness, workforce opportunity, and the vitality of our communities. That’s why the Minnesota Chamber is leading a statewide call to action, urging employers and policymakers to work together to remove barriers and restore economic growth and competitiveness.

Employer Resources for Immigration Enforcement

Immigration worksite enforcement remains an important consideration for many employers. Staying informed about changes in immigration laws and enforcement priorities is essential to maintaining compliance and reducing risk. Regularly reviewing trusted resources and preparedness materials can help employers anticipate potential challenges, implement effective mitigation strategies and respond confidently and proactively.

Blood Emergency - Donors Needed

Memorial Blood Centers has declared a blood emergency and is urging eligible donors to give as blood donations across the region have fallen to critically low levels. In recent weeks, donations have fallen nearly 40% below hospital needs, resulting in less than a two-day supply for more than 55 hospitals statewide.

The declaration comes at a time when many Minnesotans are seeking meaningful ways to support their communities. Blood donation remains a direct, tangible way for individuals to help ensure hospitals have the resources they need to care for patients every day.
