Waconia is an incredible community. Over the past couple of weeks there have been multiple events where the community has come together for a purpose, to support one another, and build connectedness. Whether it be bringing people together to financially support the work of our non-profit hospital or organizing a cancer benefit, the community rallies together with purpose.

The community also unites in times of celebration. As we approach Independence Day, we gather with family and friends outdoors for barbeques and watch the 4th of July fireworks display. When funding was tight this year due to increased prices, community members came forward in a big way to ensure a great show! Continue reading...

The Waconia Chamber Ambassadors welcomed Andy Mohn State Farm as a new member to the Waconia Chamber. Andy told the Ambassadors he had dreamed of being a State Farm agent since he was young. That dream now fulfilled, Andy provides home, auto, life, and health insurance, licensed in Minnesota and North Dakota.

Welcome Chamber Intern Riley!
 
Riley Rassman joins us as a recent graduate from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a degree in Strategic Communications. She spent her final semester of school studying abroad in Florence, Italy but is excited to be back home. She will be joining us part-time through the end of summer. As a lifelong Waconia resident, she is thrilled to be able to help support and grow the Waconia business community in the coming months.

The Carver County Fair kicks off on August 10 and the Waconia Chamber will once again host a booth in the Carver County Commons building. Downtown Waconia Reconstruction Update
 
The City Council has reviewed the public input to date and has discussed the various layout options for the project. A decision as to the footprint of the project will be made at an upcoming City Council meeting. After that occurs, work on the Feasibility Study will commence. This Feasibility Study will further refine the proposed scope of the project and will also estimate costs and assessments. Email any questions about the project to Jake Saulsbury, Bolton & Menk.
Ridgeview and Twin Cities Orthopedics Partner
 
Last week, Ridgeview and Twin Cities Orthopedics announced plans to jointly develop a new Orthopedic Institute on Ridgeview’s Chaska Campus, scheduled to open in October 2023. This is the first dedicated orthopedic facility in Minnesota that is a partnership between an independent practice and health system. It combines the world-class services of Ridgeview and TCO with groundbreaking technology in a state-of-the-art facility. The shared goals include achieving high quality in-patient care, improved outcomes, and an exceptional patient experience.

Ridgeview Golf & Taste raises more than $1.1 million
 
After a two-year hiatus, Ridgeview Foundation’s Golf & Taste Celebration was back in full swing on Monday, June 20 at Island View Golf Course in Waconia. In its 37th annual year, the event raised more than $1.1 million.
 
Proceeds from the event will benefit phase one of the Cause for the Community campaign, a multi-year initiative to enhance nearly every area within the Ridgeview system. The fundraising goals of phase one include bolstering Ridgeview’s clinical education program to provide advanced training and simulation technology, and to increase the number of advanced monitoring systems (telemetry) so patients can get a higher level of care close to home.
