Last Words...

by Kellie Sites, Waconia Chamber President
In 2007, a week before Nickle Dickle Day, I started working at the Chamber of Commerce.  In February of 2008, I took the helm at the beginning of the recession.  Normal to me, was businesses going out of business, and our Chamber working hard to keep businesses IN business.  I learned a lot about business owners and how smart you are.  Working to find new ways to do business and meet the needs of your existing customers while also gaining new customers. Dedicating to Helping

by Doug Loon, Minnesota Chamber President
We are all terribly saddened by the tragic death of fellow Minnesotan George Floyd. We collectively need to encourage a peaceful approach to finding justice and a solution to this crisis.

We support and promote the right to free speech and encourage those seeking to make a statement to do so peacefully and safely.

The cities of Minneapolis, St. Paul and the surrounding cities are incredibly important parts of our statewide business community. We stand with the many businesses, large and small employers, the employees and the people who live and work in our great state who have been impacted by this tragedy.

We are dedicated to doing our part to help.

Summer Parking Downtown
On May 27, the Waconia City Council passed resolution 2020-124, which allows for expanded outdoor dining areas, including the use of parking spaces, for our local restaurants. To assist in rotating the limited parking spaces downtown, the downtown parking regulations will be enforced this summer. Most on-street parking spaces have a 90 minute limit. There are a few areas that have a 15 minute limit. Longer parking is allowed in the municipal parking lots downtown.

Please view the map below for more details on downtown parking regulations and be sure to pay attention to signage downtown which identifies what parking spaces have time limits. The City of Waconia appreciates your support of our local businesses as Waconia continues to safely reopen.
