This time of year when the pelicans have just flown in and the daffodils are working their way to the sunshine, I’m thinking about fireworks. Where will we get all that money? The show costs about $20,000 per year. Back in the day, we had next year’s show already in the bank… but then the recession hit. Today we are raising money for this year’s show.  Do we need a fireworks show on the 4 th of July? What would happen if we just don’t collect enough money… Click here to read more...

Waconia Beach Breakers Obstacle Run

Join Community Education & Thrivent Financial for a great new adventure! This is an obstacle course fun run for kids and adults. The course is approximately 1.5 miles and will have 10-12 obstacles along the route. Participants will get wet and dirty! Proceeds for this event will help the local School PTO’s in the Waconia area and the Inclusive Playground. All kids and adults are welcome!

The Start Your Own Business class from Waconia High School has been working the past
8-9 weeks on authentic problems/projects with which various local businesses have tasked them.
The students have conducted primary/secondary research and performed competitive
analyses on behalf of their business partners. They recently culminated their trimesters with a business/project plan, including recommendations and solutions to each problem statement and will be presenting their findings.


Cost: $25/members, $30/non-members
