Many find it hard to believe that they really disinfect seats between shows and not just once each night. Their auditoriums are quite large and have excellent air exchange. Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and an important time to recognize and stand up for victims and survivors. Did you know that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experience domestic violence in their lifetime? We would like to think it doesn’t happen in our community, but the truth is that domestic violence happens everywhere. Last year, Southern Valley Alliance assisted 255 individuals in Carver County.

Southern Valley Alliance Charity Golf Scramble

The SVA mission and vision is to assist victims of domestic violence and end domestic violence in the local community. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to benefit the adult and children’s programs at SVA who, in the last year, served over 1,587 victims of domestic violence and their children in Scott and Carver counties.  
 
The event will include golf, lunch, prizes, and an online silent auction. Tickets are $125 per golfer and can be purchased online at svamn.org or by calling 952-873-4214.  
ISD 110 Virtual Town Hall

Lake Waconia Regional Park Now Open!
After a long period of closure in which road, parking, trail, utility and stormwater management improvements were made, Carver County Parks is pleased to announce the opening of the regional park to the public. A new boat access, constructed in partnership with the DNR, is also open. The hours of operation are daily 6:00AM-10:00PM. The boat launch is open sunup to sundown.
