5 ways the Waconia Chamber can support local businesses
by Christine Fenner
President, Waconia Chamber of Commerce
People have asked, “Now that Nickle Dickle Day is over, what’s the Chamber working on next?” I’ve learned that there’s never a “end one project and start the next,” but rather a continuous cycle of multiple happenings; events are just one segment.
One of our next strategies is to continue to learn more about the needs of our local businesses by connecting with you, and asking deeper questions. The chamber is a voice for business and supports the Waconia community. Continue reading...

Chamber events bring the business community together
by Doug Loon
President, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce
For more than a century, chambers of commerce throughout Minnesota have connected businesses to each other and to their communities. We take pride in being the connection point for employers and employees – those who create a great quality of life and sustain Minnesota’s economy – and the communities in which we all enjoy that life.
Events are a great way to make these connections. The Minnesota Chamber hosts more than 50 events every year, which range in size from 10 to 2,000 guests, and welcome with more than 4,000 total attendees.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic challenged everyone’s ability to enjoy these gatherings in person, the Minnesota Chamber and our local chamber partners continued to bring you programming to grow your network and your knowledge base. Continue reading...

Mackenthun's Recognized with Social Responsibility Award
The Minnesota Retailers Association is pleased to award Mackenthun’s Fine Foods the Social Responsibility award as part of the 2021 Minnesota’s Retail Champions program.
“It’s clear Mackenthun’s Fine Foods is a cornerstone in their communities,” says Bruce Nustad, Minnesota Retailers Association president. “It’s just not common today to find fifth generation owners of a retail business in Minnesota, but it’s clear Mackenthun’s connection and love for their community is what has sustained their business."
“We’ve been in the community for over 100 years,” say Mackenthun’s Fine Foods owners Jessa Theis and Jaime Mackenthun. “One of guiding principles is that we are only as strong as the community around us. Community is a big part of what we do, and that includes being active in the Chamber and giving back to area organizations."
