Why get your Dickle on?

by Kellie Sites, Waconia Chamber President
This is the most exciting and stressful time of year for me.  Anticipating Nickle Dickle Day and preparing for 25,000 visitors is a big challenge, but it’s an amazing day for Waconia. Whether you have a business right down town, or you and your employees are volunteering at the street dance or the pop booth, or you’re doing the fun runs, the Rotary Duck Races or St Joe’s 3 on 3 Basketball tournament… or you’re shopping, going to the Library book sale and having fun at one of our bars and restaurants… we all rise. I’m sure this was the goal of the Nickle Dickle Day founding fathers.

Not only is this day lucrative for our businesses, Nickle Dickle Day is an important fundraising opportunity for many organizations, including the Chamber.  Click Here to read more...
MN Job Match innovates in connecting employers, job-seekers

by Doug Loon, Minnesota Chamber President
Businesses of all types and sizes across Minnesota remain challenged to find workers with the right skills. The problem is only worsening as the state’s worker shortage is expected to hit 239,000 by 2022. Hiring the right people – with the right talent – is paramount to growing Minnesota businesses and the overall state economy.

There is no single answer to addressing workforce challenges as evidenced by the numerous public- and private-sector initiatives. Most important, the problem must be tackled from the perspective of both employers and potential employees. The Minnesota Chamber, in partnership with many local chambers and other organizations, is pleased to expand our efforts. Click Here to read more...
Ribbon Cutting
Garage Bar & Bowl

Primary Contact: Dan Madsen, co-owner
16 W 1st Street, Waconia
952-442-9999

The Ambassadors, and especially Kellie Sites, were excited to cut the ribbon for the opening of the Garage Bar & Bowl.  Dan and Amy Madsen and John Landers are the owners. They all have experience in the hospitality industry and are so excited to provide a unique environment for bowlers and non-bowlers alike. Their renovations have shown unique attention to detail and they have done a wonderful job preserving and restoring many original features to this building. This will be a great space for corporate and family events and a great place to have lunch! There is still room in the Chamber league on Wednesday nights.  Welcome to Waconia and Welcome to the Chamber!
