ADVOCATE FOR BUSINESS IN WASHINGTON DC
As the Voice for Business, the Chamber works strategically to influence policy at the local, state and federal level, ensuring the South Sound remains the best place to do business in Washington State.

The Chamber will hold its 33rd annual Washington to Washington DC conference in the nation's capital to allow area business leaders and civic officials to participate in meetings with our Congressional delegation, military officials and federal agency representatives.

The Chamber delegation will advocate on behalf of a number of issues including transportation, international trade, defense installations, health care and economic development.

SEATTLE COUNCIL SHOULD AVOID PANDERING TO EXTREME BASE
Event the Seattle times agrees, "The Seattle City Council should abandon a misguided crusade against a Tacoma natural-gas depot proposed by Councilmember Kshama Sawant."

Seattle should concentrate on improving the business climate in its own jurisdiction before imposing their extreme beliefs on Tacoma.

SUPPORT TRADE
The World Trade Center Tacoma is one of the only WTC organizations that facilitates international trade. WTCTA helps businesses to break into the global market market through training, strategic partnerships, and interpretation and translation services.

Support business and international trade by participating in the WTCTA live auction at the Globe Awards. Items up for bid include a PGA experience with Kyle Stanley, a VIP Experience with the Tacoma Rainiers and a Alaska Trip on a TOTE vessel.


TACOMA PUBLIC SCHOOLS NEED YOUR VOTE FEBRUARY 13
The Chamber supports the investment in our next generation workforce and leadership by guaranteeing continued access to technology and training, and endorses both Tacoma Public School levies on the February 13th ballot.

With the passing of State Initiative 1433, organizations which employ workers in multiple municipalities, or those with their own local rules, have been presented with a challenge:  state vs local regulation compliance and enforcement.

According to the 2018 Pierce County Economic Index, increasing rental rates together with an overall uptick in wages & personal income are reflective of a growing economy.
