2026 Barry Master Scholars

Made possible by generous donations from Barry Master ('69) - scholarships are given to outstanding Pre-Law students.

These students have each overcome personal challenges while maintaining top ranks in their class – earning high marks even in their rigorous dual credit courses.

2026 David Baker Scholarship

This year's recipient of the David Baker Scholarship is Sarah Racela, and was presented by David's classmate Jen Petry Walters.

David was a 1988 graduate and awards a Junior or Senior in the creative arts.

2026 CFL / Susan Lee Campbell Scholarship Winners

The Waggener High School / Community Foundation of Louisville, inspired by Susan Lee Campbell Scholarship is a program independent of the Alumni Association, originated by her friends and classmates, and managed by the Community Foundation of Louisville.

WHSAA Sophomore Scholars

2026 Support Complete

The Alumni Association was happy to fulfill their 2026 commitment to WHS of $10,000 with the generous donations from several alumni and the Mildred V. Horn Foundation.

This program provides a majority of the unmet need for the sophomores taking a dual-credit course - otherwise paid by the families (~$300 / student).

How Can You Help?

Alumni have always been extremely generous in support of scholarships - and we ask that you continue to be as supportive for this new academic support channel. Our goal is to support 100% of the ongoing unmet need (~$18,000 / year) for the sophomore class, and the Board would like to increase our commitment to $15,000 this year. Your help is needed for us to reach this goal.

Football Camp - June 16-18

If you know any 4th - 8th graders hoping to get an edge this season - this camp at the new football facility could help.

A lot of effort is going into a reinvigorated football program - please help circulate info about this camp.

WHS Old Football Guys

The Waggener Old Football Guys had a lunch in April at Mission BBQ, joined by new football coach Chris Johnson. About 18 kids are involved in the program.

Alumni Connect

Acknowledging that only a portion of WHS graduates will become registered members of the Alumni Association, we've taken some steps to create a comprehensive online database of all WHS graduates.

Guaranteed to be woefully outdated, but similarly guaranteed to have an entry for every WHS graduate (16,400+) - we invite you to check it out. Submit update suggestions if you can - they'll get promptly reviewed.

We Always Need Board Members!

Serving on the WHSAA Board is a great way to honor a beloved institution, serve your fellow classmates, and ensure Waggener students have resources they need to succeed.

We are in an active recruiting period, and are particularly interested in hearing from alumni that represent more recent decades and those from diverse backgrounds.

There are many roles to be filled on a working Board, your skills and energy won't be put to waste!

Treasurer - Sally Toutant Campbell

Sally Toutant Campbell ('79) is our new Treasurer. Filling some big shoes left behind by Mike Marquette ('88), Sally is recently retired from a long career as a C.P.A. with the local firm, Harding, Shymanski & Company.

We welcome Sally and are glad to have her!
