The Pit Stop Adoption Campaign is roaring into action this October! ️

Don't miss our kick-off event at Jeff Schmitt Chevrolet South in Miamisburg (125 S. Gebhart Church Road) on Saturday, October 12th from 11 am to 2 pm! We'll have a pack of adorable pit bull and bully breed dogs as well as a few other cute puppies ready to steal your heart (and maybe lick your face!). In fact, for all of October, all bully breeds that are 6 months or older will have an adoption fee of just $50!

While there, also check out this year's Car RUFFle car in person and get your Car RUFFle tickets on-site by scanning the QR Code we will have available. Just one week after this event, someone will win this brand new car!

Pet Afflaire Set to be a Night to Remember on Nov. 16

Join us for the 33rd annual Pet Afflaire Gala, a night of enchantment and elegance. Immerse yourself in the Arabian world as you dine alongside your furry friends. Enjoy a delicious dinner, live entertainment, and exciting activities all while supporting the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. Don't miss this unforgettable event!

HSGD Assists Fire Department in Saving 13 Cats

Yesterday, our humane society agents worked with the Miami Valley Fire District to take in 13 cats that were rescued from a house fire.

Through our shelter and veterinary hospital, we are able to provide these cats with temporary housing and medical care.

Following the fire, two of the cats needed to be placed on oxygen with another one suffering from minor burns, but overall the cats are safe and receiving the care they need.

We are also working with the owner of the home to help him navigate things through this difficult time.

Joffrey is Coming Home to Dayton This Upcoming Week

After months of treatments, surgeries and procedures, we are happy to report that Joffrey is finally coming home. He has spent months receiving specialized care with the amazing team at the Ohio State Veterinary Center and now he is stable enough and his wounds have healed enough to bring him back to our shelter. Plus, to make this news even better, it looks like one of Joffrey's veterinary team who has helped to care for him through this process will be adopting him. With added medical care and procedures most likely needed in his future, we couldn't be happier to know he will be cared for along his road ahead. HSGD Rescues Animals as Part of Hurricane Relief

Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc on many parts of our country. Between lives lost, extreme flooding and destruction to properties, it has been a tragic disaster for many areas. Here at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, we are doing our part to help the people and pets in need during this emergency situation. Currently, we are working with national groups to lend our support and see if we can help transport animals out of these extremely dangerous areas. Our first transport of cats and kittens will take place this Tuesday with another transport happening soon with dogs and puppies. Stay tuned on Facebook to for the latest on our efforts.

Fosters Needed to Continue to Help Homeless Animals

In an effort to help more animals in our community, we are continually looking for families who would be willing to temporarily open their hearts and homes to cats, kittens, dogs, puppies and rabbits. By becoming a foster you allow us to free up cage space so that we can help more animals within our community and your efforts are paying off.
