Dear Interested Pre-Applicant,
The Housing Authority of Cook County (HACC) will be opening its Affordable Multi-Family Housing wait list for one (1) bedroom standard and accessible units at the Southern County Community Housing, LLC (SCCH), located at the following buildings: 1704-06 East End Ave Chicago Heights, IL 60411 and 350 Juniper St Park Forest, IL 60466. The household will be required to pay rent equal up to 30% of their adjusted annual income. To qualify, the annual income for a one-person household cannot exceed $43,800 and the annual income for a two-person household cannot exceed $50,540 (income limits are subject to change per HUD Guidelines). The head of household or co-head/spouse must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
Preferences will be given to:
• Applicants who meet HUD definition of homelessness
• Age 62 and older
• Persons with disabilities
• Victims of Domestic Violence
Applicants will be placed on the wait list based on the highest number of preference points and based on the date and time pre-applications are received. Applicants claiming a preference must be able to demonstrate they qualify for the preference. Applicants not claiming a preference will be placed on the wait list according to the order in which the pre-applications are received.
Pre-applications will be available online beginning on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 10:00 am and will remain open until Monday, November 21, 2022 at 4:30 pm.
