Waiting on God's Kingdom
This Sunday the Church celebrates the end of the Liturgical Year with the Great Solemnity of Christ the King. We are reminded that while God's Kingdom has been inaugurated in the world, it is not yet fully realized. It will not be fulfilled until the world to come, and so the Church (and all Creation) is still in a period of waiting. This is why we continue to pray "Thy Kingdom Come" and Marana-tha ("Come Lord"). In this week's Sunday Reflection, I talk about why it's important for us to realize that we are still in a time of waiting, and how we should live while we wait.

Mass this Sunday
We won't have to wait long for the end of the semester! This Sunday will be our final Mass on campus until Jan 24, 2021. Because most of our students will be travelling home this weekend, we anticipate a smaller attendance so Mass will be in our chapel at CCM at 4:00 pm, with masks required and limited seating. Mass will also be live streamed on our Facebook Page.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Covid-19 means that many families' Thanksgiving celebrations this year will be smaller than usual. In the midst of a global pandemic and economic recession, some may not feel very thankful. But expressing thanks in times of hardship is what Thanksgiving is all about as I explain in a recent blog post, "Giving Thanks in Times of Trouble."

However large or small your celebration is this year, I wish you all a very blessed Thanksgiving.

In Christ,
Deacon Matt
This week on CCM Connect we honor our seniors by interviewing the graduating members of our Peer Ministry team about their time in campus ministry and their post-graduation plans. Premiers on our YouTube Channel this Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
Because of the extended break this year, we won't be together in person for the season of Advent. But we have some exciting ways for you to stay connected with our ministry over the break and prepare in a prayerful way to celebrate with joy our Lord's Nativity at Christmas. Check our our Advent resource page to see what we have coming up!
During the month of November, the Church encourages us to pray in a special way for the departed souls in Purgatory, and offers special indulgences for doing so. In this month's installment of CCM In-Depth, Deacon Matt talks about Purgatory, Indulgences and Praying for the Dead, and why to properly understand these things, we need to understand what the Church teaches about salvation.
