Tonight we begin our 27 week of serving meals in our community this year at Hope House from 5-6 pm! Tonight also marks an exciting new beginning for our program! Since April, Boston Market has been catering our meals. The quality and reliability has been great and we are so thankful.

Beginning tonight Gwen Sneed, member of Friendship Chapel Baptist Church and chef/caterer extraordinaire will begin providing dinner plates. Gwen has interned with us since August while she was completing a culinary degree at Wake Tech. She has been adding ten catered meals to our program throughout September with rave reviews- folks have tasted the love, care and homemade goodness! Gwen will now cater all 100 meals for our program each week through December. This partnership is a blessing and defines what our program has been for four years now.

You may wonder about the beautiful boxes of produce that we have been distributing since September. Thanks to the leadership of Mike Burger at Tri Area Ministry and Drew Brown with the Town of Wake Forest and the collaboration of the Northern Food Security Team, we have been purchasing local and seasonal produce with CARES Act funding. This funding also purchases shelf stable boxes of grocery items that are distributed on Wednesdays at Olive Branch Baptist Church. Maggie Andersen is the facilitator of distributing all of this food to our program and about a dozen other food pantries from the Food HUB refrigerated trailer across from Forks in the old Sun Trust lot. Thank you for your hard work to support our program!
