Pastor Trudy's Weekend Message
Hens and Foxes. What kind of leaders do you admire? You are sly as a fox if you are getting that this is a trick question! Jesus compares himself to a hen and Herod to a fox. Can we see past a lifetime of negative ideas about 'being a chicken' to see its surprising power?

God, You continue to challenge our ideas of strength and faithfulness. Help us to open to our hearts and minds to ponder Your ideas. In Jesus' name, Amen.
GLC Kids and Families
A-tisket, a-tasket
we've transformed our Easter Basket!
This Lenten season, our Easter basket has been turned into an "Ask It Basket"! If you have a question about the Easter story, our faith or our church, submit your questions here! This is OPEN to the entire congregation! At the end of Lent, Pastor Trudy will take time to answer these questions.

WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
How do I know what I'm taking for granted before it is gone? This thoughtful question came from one of our confirmation students. Often I take things for granted when I'm rushing on to the next thing or so distracted that I can't really focus well on one thing. Other times it is because I assume something will always be there and I will get to it later. During the season of Lent, we are invited to slow down, to pause, to spend some time in reflection. I pray it will help all of us hear and see and notice.
CRISIS IN UKRAINE Through your giving to GLC, you are already on the ground through many Lutheran organizations that provide emergency relief, refugee resettlement, and more. Because the structure is already in place, your gifts above and beyond can reach those in greatest need, like those in Ukraine.

There will also be a special offering basket at GLC for gifts for Ukraine. Just indicate this clearly on an envelope and make your check payable to GLC and we will combine all our gifts and send them to ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response.

A little about Scott: I was born, raised, lived, worked and retired in Elmhurst—all within the radius of 2 miles. I grew up at Epiphany Lutheran Church, was a summer camp counselor and later served on the Board at LOMC. Having just recently moved to North Aurora and in the midst of the pandemic, my wife, Charity, and I have been very blessed to have found GLC and are looking forward to active membership here.—Scott Ahlgrim

GLC FACES OF FAITH
Burning last year's palm branches for Ash Wednesday services.
Jan, Dotty, Cindy, Martha and Leslie served at Feed My Starving Children by packing boxes of meal formula for hungry children around the world. #generouslifeinChrist
Three Lutheran Pastors on a Friday afternoon (there's a joke in here somewhere...)! Pastors Wende, Trudy, and Josh at St. Andrew food packing event. #generouslifeinChrist
GLC families joined together with our regular Friday St. Andrew crew to pack food on the kids' day off from school. It was an awesome intergenerational serving event! #generouslifeinChrist
Send pictures of how you are living your #generouslifeinChrist to Margo. Thank you!
