We constantly monitor our Fluent security on the Amazon servers, and we had our best score to date! Security is fundamental to everything we do with Walchem controllers, live connections and data storage & transmission. Each new version of our controller and Walchem Fluent software is an opportunity for us to enhance security, fix bugs, and improve the user experience. These latest results reaffirm that Walchem is an industry leader in keeping customer data safe and secure.

Controller Passwords – Act Now!

There are still many older Walchem controllers online with older software and the original 4-digit default password. Walchem always recommends upgrading to the latest software for maximum security, and doing so will force the entry of a stronger password. If you can’t upgrade, at least change the login credentials. 

Malicious actors are constantly probing internet-connected devices for vulnerabilities – and this includes internet-connected Walchem controllers. Strong passwords and updated software are your first lines of defense!

Not-so-fun Fact:

Search “Walchem controller passwords” online and you’ll find information about the old default passwords - so can hackers. Change them now and make them strong. 

Newer software (v4.23+) also allows adding a recovery email, so password resets can be done instantly in the field – no need to contact Walchem Customer Service!

Compliance Update:

We are pleased to confirm that Walchem controllers and Fluent servers comply with the EU Data Act in the handling, security and availability of data. More information is available upon request.

Webmasters used a much older, simpler operating system and had very little security required of them. We understand the connections appear “fast” online, but…why are they so fast? With little to no security or encryption to slow down the connection, they have much less data to transfer.
