Patients in Wales given access to information from their Welsh GP Record

Patients can now access parts of their GP Record via My Health Online to see their allergies and recent medications.

All new users of My Health Online will automatically have access to this information, but for existing users GP practices may need to switch it on individually.

Other services offered through My Health Online are booking and cancelling Practice appointments, and ordering repeat prescriptions and changing contact details such as email address and mobile numbers.  The range of My Health Online services available may vary between GP practices to take into account local circumstances.
Speed sharing across borders

A new superfast digital connection between Welsh and English health and care providers is to go live in Wales from June 2018. It will support the thousands of secure cross-border exchanges and patient pathways that take place every day between Wales and England.

The service will allow health and care organisations in Wales using the all-Wales public sector network (PSBA) to connect with the new Health and Social Care Network (HSCN) in England. This will allow all health organisations in Wales to share information with providers in England and vice versa.

HSCN has recently replaced England's N3 network, which has been in operation since 2004.

The new connectivity between the two countries will deliver increased bandwidth and will be around ten times faster than the previous network connection.

NHS Wales has awarded the new connection contract to link Wales and the HSCN to MLL Telecom following a robust procurement.

New 'Ecosystem' Network created

A partnership has been launched to share digital health innovations and to access NHS Wales' health and care sector platforms.

The Digital Health Ecosystem Wales (DHEW) network has been created from a collaboration between NHS Wales Informatics Services and the Life Sciences Hub Wales is supported by Welsh Government's Efficiency Through Technology Programme.

The project runs until March 2020 and involves both software development by the Informatics Service and engagement of stakeholders by the Life Sciences Hub, through a series of events and information sharing meetings.

Its key aim is to create a national network, or 'eco-system', to deliver new ways of enhancing well-being and the quality of care through the development of digital applications and services.

The role of the Informatics Service within this collaboration is to provide the technical platform.

The ecosystem provides a route to tap into NHS expertise and a technical platform to allow approved commercial partners to access demonstration versions of NHS Wales and other systems.

Access to the NHS Wales architecture is being delivered in incremental phases and will be delivered via an internet-based interface to enable software developers across the globe to be able to connect their systems.

Swansea-based healthcare software company GCL has already reported that it was able to integrate to the NHS Wales API in less than 24 hours.

Bydd cyswllt digidol cyflym iawn newydd, rhwng darparwyr iechyd a gofal Cymru a Lloegr, yn  mynd yn fyw yng Nghymru ym mis Mehefin 2018. Bydd yn ategu'r miloedd o lwybrau cleifion a chyfnewidiadau diogel traws ffiniau, sy'n digwydd bob dydd rhwng Cymru a Lloegr.

Bydd y gwasanaeth yn caniatáu i sefydliadau iechyd a gofal yng Nghymru, sy'n defnyddio'r rhwydwaith sector cyhoeddus Cymru gyfan (PSBA), gysylltu â'r Rhwydwaith Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol (HSCN) newydd  yn Lloegr. Bydd hyn yn caniatáu i'r holl sefydliadau iechyd yng Nghymru rannu gwybodaeth â darparwyr yn Lloegr, ac i'r gwrthwyneb.

Fe wnaeth HSCN ddiddymu rhwydwaith N3 yn Lloegr yn ddiweddar, a oedd wedi bod yn gweithredu ers 2004.

Bydd y cysylltiad newydd rhwng y ddwy wlad yn cyflwyno lled band uwch a bydd oddeutu deg gwaith yn gyflymach na chysylltiad y rhwydwaith blaenorol.

Creu Rhwydwaith 'Ecosystem' Newydd

Lansiwyd partneriaeth i rannu arloesiadau iechyd digidol ac i gyrchu llwyfannau sector iechyd a gofal GIG Cymru.

Crëwyd rhwydwaith Ecosystem Iechyd Digidol Cymru (DHEW) yn sgil cydweithrediad rhwng Gwasanaeth Gwybodeg GIG Cymru a Hwb Gwyddorau Bywyd Cymru, a gynorthwyir gan Raglen Effeithlonrwydd trwy Dechnoleg Llywodraeth Cymru.

Cynhelir y prosiect tan fis Mawrth 2020 ac mae'n cynnwys datblygu meddalwedd gan y Gwasanaeth Gwybodeg, ac ymgysylltu â rhanddeiliaid gan yr Hwb Gwyddorau Bywyd, trwy gyfres o ddigwyddiadau a chyfarfodydd rhannu gwybodaeth.

Ei nod allweddol yw creu rhwydwaith genedlaethol, neu 'ecosystem', i gyflwyno ffyrdd newydd i wella lles ac ansawdd gofal, trwy ddatblygu cymwysiadau a gwasanaethau digidol.

Rôl y Gwasanaeth Gwybodeg yn y cydweithrediad hwn yw darpar lwyfan technegol.

Mae'r ecosystem yn darparu llwybr i fanteisio ar arbenigedd y GIG, a llwyfan technegol i ganiatáu partneriaid masnachol cymeradwy i gyrchu fersiynau arddangos o GIG Cymru a systemau eraill.

Caiff mynediad at bensaernïaeth GIG Cymru ei gyflwyno mewn camau cynyddol ac fe'i cyflwynir trwy ryngwyneb seiliedig ar y rhyngrwyd i alluogi datblygwyr meddalwedd ledled y byd i gysylltu eu systemau.

Mae'r cwmni meddalwedd gofal iechyd, GCL, sydd wedi'i leoli yn Abertawe, eisoes wedi adrodd y bu modd iddo integreiddio yn API GIG Cymru mewn llai na 24 awr.
