Walk a 5K in Everyone's Shoes
In our final email regarding this year's Virtual 5K, I wanted to share with you some highlights and photos from participants around the country. Thank you all for participating and sharing your stories, I hope to see you again next year in the 2022 Virtual 5K!
We had two separate groups go through the Meriwether Lewis National Monument site. Jerry and Janice walked together along the Natchez Trace on a beautiful sunny day, and Gwynn enjoyed her walk with her best pal Maggie by her side!
Lorna takes the cake with the most completed 5Ks and the farthest distance, covering over 50 miles! She traveled through the Lost 40 near Northome, MN, around Itasca State Park having to cross the Mississippi River, and along the Paul Bunyan State Trail alongside Lake Bemidji. Great job, Lorna!
Kris and JoAnn enjoyed their 5K along a wonderful trail in Washington, while their four-legged friend Molly trotted alongside.
Sue and Steve strolled along the Lewis and Clark Discovery Trail in Long Beach, WA, and stopped for a minute to spend some time with our old friend, Clark.
Barb and Rennie took a moment to reflect back on a little different history, taking in some public art in Vancouver, WA honoring Rosie the Riveter
Lou went around New Orleans and was even able to find some "signs" of Lewis and Clark. The building in these pictures is the Cabildo in Jackson Square, and anyone familiar with December 20, 1803 would recognize this as the spot where the Louisiana Purchase was signed.
Chris and Lee take us on a spectacular tour of Great Falls, highlighting some of the most popular local Lewis and Clark art, as well as some wonderful signs of spring with the baby geese and the snow capped mountains.
Members of the Missouri-Kansas Riverbend Chapter walked together and enjoyed each other's company and laughter. Looks like a really great time to me!
Barry made some new friends during his 5K, and really enjoyed the slightly overcast weather.
James took this opportunity to virtually explore Camp Disappointment. What a great way to explore more, even from home!
Steve and Kathryn enjoyed canoeing their 5K. Doesn't this look absolutely amazing?
Those who's photos are shared above were not the only ones who participated this last weekend. We had over 40 participants from 10 different states.

I just want to take one more moment to simply say, THANK YOU! This event was a great success, and it was all because of you. You are the folks who help keep the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation active, and you are the folks that we work hard for.

Stay tuned for future LCTHF event by checking out our website and social media! Have a wonderful summer season.

Sincerely,
Sarah Cawley
