SEPT 27, 2016
Greetings!

One of my friends forwarded an email with all kinds of pithy sayings and one caught my eye that said something to the effect of "One of the most difficult decisions in life is whether to walk away or try harder." Sometimes decisions are not about right or wrong but about what is correct--a laser response to the situation--and that often lies in the field that Rumi calls "the beyond."
The "walk away" choice seems appropriate if you have been violated repeatedly in some way--verbally, passive-aggressively, definitely physically, or some other form of violence be that an undercurrent or an outer manifestation. It may also be the quick fix to a situation needing time and compassion.
The "try harder" response is often based on Christian values of forgiveness and letting things go and starting anew. That said, Christian values often keep one in the spiral of abuse, not allowing one to be free to make a decision for one's best interests, for a healthy soul.
A laser response is based on deep knowing and this comes from a healthy respect for oneself. Once that knowing hits the belly, you've got your answer.
