Dr. Ahsan M. Khan is an avid runner who has run two world marathons in Chicago and New York. Along the way he supported charities that are personal to him, like the Alzheimer’s charity he ran for in New York in honor of his paternal grandmother who suffered from Alzheimer’s in the later stages of her life.
This year he had the opportunity to run another world marathon; in Berlin, Germany. As he trained he decided to support another cause near and dear to him, HFUSA Gift of Sight which is in need of funds for cataract surgery equipment at Nasir Hospital.
“I was grateful that some of my donors were my own patients who came across my fundraising page online. The support was once again tremendous.”
Just three weeks before the big race, Dr. Khan suffered a setback when he injured his knee. With some professional treatment and prayers, he was able to complete the marathon.
“There were 50,000 runners at the Berlin Marathon and many were running for a personal cause or goal. It was nice to see how this major event was truly a service to mankind.”
HFUSA is so proud of Dr. Khan’s dedication and deeply grateful for his contribution. HFUSA is looking forward to his support once again in future marathons.
