Dominguez Joins Staff, Will Oversee Disney Wishes

As a volunteer wish granter, Karen Dominguez experiences the joy of making wishes come true for children. Now she is excited to join the chapter as the wish coordinator for Disney and Orlando theme park wishes.

Dominguez is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo, and has more than 15 years of experience in working with children and their families at public schools in Florida and New York.

She lives in Latham, New York, with her husband, two daughters and beloved dog. She loves to travel, see Broadway shows and listen to any type of live music. As an avid reader, Dominguez also enjoys a quiet night at home with a good book and a chocolate dessert.

Karen’s heartfelt wish is to travel to every Disney park around the globe!

Make-A-Wish Kids Captaining First-Place Empire
Make-A-Wish Northeast New York wish kids have served as honorary captains for each Albany Empire home game this season.

Each game the wish kid is introduced by the public address announcer, and then accompanies a game official to midfield, where the youth conducts the coin toss.

The Empire are in first place in the Arena Football League season. Coincidence, or more proof of the power of a wish? You decide.
Did You Get Your Wishmaker?

An Eventful Summer Ahead

As summer gets into full swing, we pause to express our gratitude and appreciation to the more than 20 groups doing fundraisers this summer to benefit our wish kids, from golf tournaments to fishing and skydiving events. Thank you to all of the organizers and participants who are helping us to make wishes come true for children who have critical illnesses.

I also want to thank everyone in the Greater Capital Region who is sponsoring, recruiting teams, and signing up to participate in our Sixth Annual Walk for Wishes at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy on Aug. 10. The 2019 Walk is shaping up to be a fantastic celebration of our great mission.

Sincerely,

William C. Trigg, III, CEO, Make-A-Wish Northeast New York
