We have gotten to the area of Shipshewana, Indiana this very first week!

Although only 670 people live in Shipshewana, it is home to the third largest Amish community in the U.S. It has the Midwest’s largest flea market and a reputation for hand-crafter wares. The Amish are a group of traditionalist Christian church fellowships with origins in the Swiss German Anabaptists. They have a reputation for simple living, plain dress, and a reluctance to adopt many modern conveniences.

As we travel through Shipshewana, please respect their shunning of photography and be aware that area businesses are closed on Sundays.
