Rabat.
The name Morocco means “the place where the sun sets” in Arabic. Here are some highlights about Morocco:
Government:
The state of Morocco is a constitutional monarchy with an elected parliament. The current king is Mohammed VI. Morocco is a member of the Arab League, the Union for the Mediterranean and the African Union.
Climate:
Is very similar to southern California with lush forests in the northern and central mountain areas giving way to drier conditions and deserts in the southeast.
Religion:
99% Muslim; Sunnis form the majority at 67% but 30% are non-denominational Muslims. Christians are thought to be about 1% of the population or approximately 380,000.
