  It’s clambake season in Cleveland. That’s reason enough to celebrate, but we’re giving you many more reasons to celebrate. This year’s Celebrate Tremont fundraiser is back Friday, October 15, from 7 to 11 p.m.
at Forest City Brewery in Duck Island. Your $115 ticket includes a clambake dinner, unlimited craft beer and wine, a specialty cocktail, live music, a DJ, prizes, silent auction, raffles, prizes and more!
 This promises to be a fun-filled evening for Tremont residents, friends and supporters while raising funds to help ensure Tremont remains the vibrant urban village it is today. A portion of proceeds will support Lucky Park.
 Celebrate Tremont presented by The Spotted Owl and Prosperity Social Club is proud to have honorary chairs Bernie Sokolowski (Sokolowski’s University Inn), Bonnie Flinner (Prosperity Social Club) and Paulius Nasvytis (Velvet Tango Room) part of this year’s event.

Curb Side Recycling is now Opt-In
The City of Cleveland today announced residents can now opt in to the new bi-weekly curbside recycling program. Residents interested in joining the program must sign up by October 22 via the opt-in form or by calling 216-664-3030 and agree to the recycling program guidelines. The ongoing recycling program changes are part of an effort to reduce contamination from curbside recycling, reduce program costs, and improve efficiency of waste collection operations. Current eligibility is detailed at coronavirus.ohio.gov/vaccine. This confidential service is for anyone living, working, worshipping, or having a friend or relative in Tremont.

Traffic Alert - West 14th Street
Public Input Sought for Buhrer Pedestrian Bridge by ODOT
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is proposing replace the Buhrer Avenue Pedestrian Bridge over I-71 in the City of Cleveland. 
The Buhrer Avenue Pedestrian Bridge will be closed for a period of eight months during construction. Lane closures during construction on I-71 will be required during off peak hours. 
This bridge replacement is scheduled for construction in 2024. Detailed project schedule information will be released in spring 2022. The estimated construction cost is $1,300,000.

Public Input Sought for Improvements to I-71/SR-176/Valentine Avenue Auxiliary Lanes by ODOT
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is designing improvements to the auxiliary lanes connecting I-71, SR-176, Valentine Avenue, and West 14th Street in the City of Cleveland. The improvements will reduce congestion in the southbound direction on the auxiliary lanes and at the Valentine Ave. intersection.
Lane closures during construction will be required; however, traffic will be maintained through the area.
Valentine Ave. eastbound will be closed during the project. A detour for eastbound traffic on Valentine Ave. will be provided. Westbound traffic on Valentine Ave. will be maintained.
This transportation improvement is scheduled for construction in 2023. The estimated construction cost is $3,745,000.

2021 Cleveland Waste Pick-up Schedule
As a reminder, cans are not to be placed outside earlier than 12 pm the day before garbage pick-up and must be removed by 12 pm the day following garbage pick-up.
