Monthly News and Updates from the Wellness Program
Walktober Starts Today!
Our popular monthlong exercise incentive program starts today. Faculty and staff are invited to join the interactive program on their own, or with a team of 4-6 to move more, enjoy the fall colors and feel better.

Those who fill their virtual tree with at least 20 leaves (that's hitting at least 6,000 steps - or the equivalent activity - at least 20 of the 31 days) will be eligible for a prize drawing for a CWRU winter hat! And teams will have a chance to win a free lunch together on campus.

Walktober is a great way to encourage one another to move more. We look forward to seeing you out and about.
Program Attestations Due Soon!
Wellness Participants (those already earning the $25 monthly Program Incentive) who completed 85% of programming in any of our SIX Wellness categories this year are reminded to attest to completion in HCM no later than November 30th.

Program categories:
Community Well-being
Financial Well-being
Nutrition/Weight Management
Physical Activity
Stress Management
Tobacco Cessation

Just go to the Wellness Tile in HCM and select the tab for the program you completed.
We have a slide show to walk you through the attestation process.
Not sure if you completed enough sessions? Contact Mary Ann with the class name and she will verify for you!
Don't Miss Out on Your Flu Shot

Faculty and staff are requested to bring their CWRU ID and come to any of our upcoming events including TODAY from 8:30 to 11:30 AM in the TVUC Senior Classroom.

Locations include the TVUC, HEC and Wolstein Research Building.
Let's Talk! Time for Another Community Conversation
Our September discussion was interesting and raised some good points like how important clear communication is from campus leaders and managers and the different ways in which we use our energy while working on campus. Join us for another discussion on October 7 at 3 PM.

Complete your Health Risk Assessment Today!
The Health Risk Assessment (HRA), from our partners at WebMD, is required for those who plan to be Wellness Participants in 2022.

Wellness Participants are those faculty and staff who plan to use a university medical plan next year and would like to earn the $25 monthly Wellness Program Incentive all year.

This short questionnaire, focused on your current health status and habits, can be done on a phone or computer. Log into the WebMD site today to complete it!
A Heartfelt Farewell
My dear fellow faculty and staff, later this month I will be leaving CWRU to pursue teaching opportunities outside of the university. For the past six and a half years, I have so enjoyed getting to know so many of you wonderful people. Your interest in personal growth and compassion for one another has been so lovely to see.

Please be assured that the Wellness Program will go on without a hitch under the continued supervision of Medical Director Elizabeth Click.

Continue to take good care of yourself and others!
-Mary Ann
October is Health Literacy Month
Personal health literacy is when individuals have the ability to find, understand, and use information and services for health-related decisions for themselves and others. To help bridge any knowledge gap, the Wellness Program invites all benefits eligible faculty and staff to learn more about their personal health status each fall by:

In fact, studies show that a significant number of people have problems reading, understanding, and acting on health information. This impacts personal health and one's ability to access healthcare resources.
In addition to the annual Wellness activities, faculty and staff are invited to take advantage of resources from Medical Mutual and the CWRU Benefits team. The annual Benefits Fair will be virtual again this fall from November 8-12, 2021. Look for details in the Daily!
