These agreements allow students to begin their academic journey close to home, complete foundational coursework at Wallace, and transfer seamlessly to complete a bachelor’s degree.
Wallace maintains several transfer pathways with Troy University. Students in Wallace’s Electrical Technology and Industrial Systems Technology programs may transfer into Troy University’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering program.
Additional agreements support transfer opportunities for Wallace students seeking degrees in Biomedical Science or Biology (including pre-optometry), Early Childhood Education, and Occupational Education.
| WCCD Dual Enrollment Program Sees Record Enrollment | |
Wallace Community College recorded its highest-ever Dual Enrollment participation during the Spring 2026 semester, with 1,178 high school students earning 4,912 college credit hours.
The program allows eligible students to earn college credit while completing high school, helping them save time and money while getting a head start on certificates or degrees. Growth in the program has been supported by grant funding that covers up to two college courses for eligible students, the WallaceBooks+ textbook rental program, and strong partnerships with regional high schools that encourage students to explore career and technical education pathways aligned with workforce needs.

Wallace Community College is highlighting the impact of its reverse transfer process through the journey of alumnus Darran Williams, whose career path from U.S. Navy service to instructor at Farley Nuclear Plant ultimately led him back to Wallace to complete his associate degree.
After beginning his studies at WCCD and later advancing in the workforce, Williams was able to earn his degree through a combination of prior learning assessment and reverse transfer, which allowed previously earned credits and work-based learning to count toward his credential. His story reflects Wallace’s commitment to helping students turn earlier coursework and professional experience into completed degrees that support career advancement.

Industry leaders gathered at the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce in February to discuss how the Wiregrass FAME (Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education) model is helping close the gap in industrial and technical talent across the Wiregrass.
Through student sponsorships, hands-on training, and strong partnerships with local employers, the program creates a direct pipeline of skilled, work-ready graduates prepared to meet today’s workforce demands.
