Joyce Gomer and David Gomer
Supporters of the Cape Foundation (Since 1973)
|
|
David and Joyce Gomer are generous people who, over the years, have given their time, talents and treasure to grow the Cape Coral Community Foundation into a center for generosity. David and Joyce are pioneers in Cape Coral philanthropy and civic engagement.
In 1973, David was a young banker with Col. Lowell Mills, who chartered the first bank in Cape Coral. Dallas Darling, also a banker, came up with the idea of creating a community foundation, similar to the one in his hometown of
Grand Rapids, Michigan.
David, and four other leaders, Col. Mills, Dallas Darling, Chandler Burton and Joe Adderly became the first Board of Directors for the foundation that was originally named
The Philanthropic Foundation of Cape Coral, Inc.
David Gomer did the record keeping for the foundation. The mission of the foundation was to improve the quality of life for people living in Cape Coral and Lee County.
To preserve their family’s tradition of generosity, David and Joyce Gomer opened a Giving Fund to continue their legacy as community philanthropists. With the Cape Coral Community Foundation as their giving partner.
David and Joyce will be woven into the lives of others in the community – For Good. For Ever.
The Cape Foundation thanks David and Joyce Gomer for their generosity and dedication to the city of Cape Coral.

Don't Forget Your 2018 Year End Gift
|
|
Making a year end gift to the Cape Coral Community Foundation can be easy. Remember, the Foundation must receive your gift by December 31, 2018, to qualify for a charitable tax deduction. Some possibilities:
- CASH or CHECK. There is no easier way to make a gift to the Cape Coral Community Foundation than simply writing a check. We accept any amount, large or small. Mail donations to: 1405 SE 47th Street, Unit 2, Cape Coral, FL 33904.
- CREDIT CARD. We do not encourage debt to make a donation. However, if it is more convenient to give online or you prefer to earn bonus points for travel or hotel credits, make a gift using this link: Donate Today
- STOCKS or MUTUAL FUNDS. Giving appreciated securities provides a tax deduction for the full market value on the date of the gift and avoids the capital gains tax you would pay if you sold the security. We can instruct you on transferring securities to the Cape Coral Community Foundation or even arrange a "paperless" transfer. REMEMBER be sure to allow a little extra time for these transfers.
